Hi Been reading and doing research but need handson info on how to edit a word press template offline.Anyone with info on what tools to use thanks in advance

So you basically just need a code editor from the sounds of it.
Sublime is a good recommendation from Macdonjo. But it's not free so you'll need to obtain it however you obtain it.
Brackets, Atom and Visual Studio Code are all free options to choose from, Brackets perhaps the most popular of the three.

With Brackets I hope I can edit both codes and images and I can also have a preview before hosting the site.Otherwise appreciate your contribution

Yeah, but I should've mentioned, that's assuming you install and setup WordPress on your local machine first (e.g., with XAMPP to locally host it). After that point, you can begin creating your child theme for it by using something like Brackets or Sublime to do the editing, and the web browser to do the previewing, for example.

For local host, based on my experience, the fastest option is Laragon.

Subblime is good for local editor and even lighter one is notepad++. Few more would be atom and brackets. For local host I use Local by flywheel, its simple and easy to use. Better than most of them in the market.

Yeah, divi is a premium theme. Something come close to it as a free option is the elementor page builder.
