Well i have a website which is indexed on google and is like 1 year old, it's on the same topic and everything, it's not ranking AT ALL because i didn't optimize it for SEO when i made it. Should i update it and SEO it or should i just start over with a new site?Thanks

I would just optimize it better, no need to start fresh unless you've gotten a penalty.

If you start completely fresh, you're going to need to wait longer before it ranks. Keep your existing site as it's already aged.

Start SEO for your aged site. It is possible to rank quickely. Don't start a new site.
