What would you choose for your first business and why? Let’s discuss scaling and opportunities.

It would definitely not be in the US. In my opinion, it is too crowded and competitive. I would look at CA and the largest European countries, where demand is growing.

I would prefer to start it as a side hustle, not with the goal of becoming a millionaire

For a first business, local SEO is usually a better choice because it is easier to start, needs less money, and can give faster results. In growing markets like Canada and Europe, there is good demand from small businesses. Ecommerce has bigger long term potential, but it is more competitive and takes more time and effort. For a side hustle, local SEO is simpler to manage, easier to scale step by step, and helps build steady income with lower risk.

If I were diving into a first business, I’d definitely avoid the crowded US waters too many sharks . I’d probably go for Canada or Germany, where there’s room to breathe and still tons of opportunity. I’d treat it like a side hustle at first, no need to become a millionaire before my morning coffee! The goal? Build something chill, scale it slowly, and maybe one day kick back with a nice passive income and a cup of tea ☕.

First, I would buy a new domain, then try to rank it for specific terms?. After that, I’d look for potential clients to rent or sell the leads generated through the site?
 
You will focus on local SEO, simply put, and concentrate on the season and specific geographic demographics to boost your website's reach to them, as well as better deliver your site to the target audience they are searching for.

I'd start with a niche website + SEO. Low cost, scalable, and can grow slowly as a side hustle. Target less competitive market (EU/CA) and build around search demands.
 
local seo in european countries is a goldmine right now. way less competition than the us and businesses are just starting to understand the value of ranking on google maps. you can charge €300-500/month per client easily
 
Local seo is definitely the way to go for a side hustle because it's way easier to rank and build a solid client base without burning out. It’s a smarter move to dominate a specific local niche in those regions than fighting the chaos of ecommerce right from the jump
