Hi,

Can anyone guide me in URL structuring for an eCommerce website. It is an online book store. So, more number of categories are there.

For example, the existing category URL is like this

domainname.com/product-category/books/category/main-subcategory/sub-category/

URL is very long.

Product URL:
domainname.com/product/product-name

Product category base field is having this "product-category"

When we go to books as a category, it is displaying all the books. It is just coming in the slug. Product category and Books as a category is needed?

domainname.com/product-category/ - going to 404
domainname.com/product-category/books/

Permalinks is set to Day and name. Can I change this to Post name?. This will affect only the blog posts, Right?

Thanks

For ecommerce the URL would show and build up all the categories until you click a product page: /category/subcategory/subsubcategory/, and then the product page is just /product-name. This avoids duplication issues where a product could be available under multiple categories and be accessible under multiple URLs.
