ecommerce site in Greece

Hello! I am planning to start an ecommerce site. It will be based on dropshiping (i will pay the dropshiper to send the goods directly to my customers).

The problem is that i cant make a legal ecommerce site because the tax system of Greece will screw me.

I have a verified premier paypal account ( i have already verified it with id and utility bill). I am planning to move the money from paypal to my payoneer card and then i will use them.

Do you think this way is safe? Does paypal shares personal data (name, address etc) with foreign authorities?

I was thinking for an anonymous paypal account with fake data but withdrawal will be a problem.

I will really appreciate if you spend some time to guide me.

The fact that you're in Greece would lead me to believe you might want to try something different. From what I understand, your economic structure is kind of screwed and, that being the case, your Government might take to taxing you to death. I don't know friend, drop shipping is pretty solid but your location..........not so much so.

I do not think that Paypal would share your info with the Greek govt, unless your products are counterfeit or illegal or you will be hosting a betting site or sell drugs. I have managed to reach the limit (2.500) by selling on ebay last year and they have only asked me for a scanned paper bank statement and my id to extend my limit. But nevertheless I have not had any nagging from anyone (paypal or gsis) with regards to the above amounts collected. Maybe because I have been spending them back from paypal instead of withdrawing them to a Greek bank but since you will be using Payoneer you will be flying under their radar. Just watch out for the competition (even those who do the same) who might turn you in, perhaps you should not declare that your shop is based in Greece or use a .gr domain.

Paypal will not share your info. The only thing is if that money is entering Greece (read Greek banks), after a few thousands euros, someone might ask you "excuse me where is this coming from?" and you better have a good explanation or else it is tax avoidance which is a criminal offence (well in Greece it is in theory right? xaxaxa)

If your money lands straight into a foreign bank account, tax authorities in Greece normally shouldn't know and cannot do anything about that. However to have a foreign bank account, you probably need a company, and you almost definitely need to go to that country in person.

Also, the main point is that while you fly under the radar (just get a few thousand euros a month), you should be fine, no one will give a shit about you or the way you make that kind of money cos its pretty small for Paypal/tax authorities radars..

Wrong... Paypal WILL share you info if you registered the account with your name and your bank account. Paypal bows down to local law... especially in the EU it's a pain in the ass! Your tax department will be notified if you cross a certain line (should be 10k Euros if you have it verified).

Make a company in Bulgaria where taxes are 10% and sell from here.

I believe the payoneer card will work for you and you can withdraw from there without having to worry about taxes.I am from Greece too and i do sales on ebay.I never have filled any tax info to the IRS here (eforia DOY) and my revenue exceeds 5 figure for sure but they not bag me and do not request me anything to provide so i just fly under the radar although i do withdraw from paypal to my Greek bank account.I think that the tax system as you know is pretty much disorganised although they are trying to catch up lately , but still internet earnings can fly under the radar for now.
Your best bet is to withdraw to a card as you said payoneer that way IRS wont have any info on you or withdraw to an offshore bank account.

Thats exactly what i am afraid. If paypal gives transaction logs as well with my info to Greek tax department i am screwed, cause i will sell with small fees, so i would need high amounts paid to my paypal account to make a small profit.

In the other hand paypal says that will informe Us authorities only in case of more than 20.000 $ + more of 200 transaction. And only for usa citizens.

A anonymous/stealthed paypal account sounds a good idea but i dont think its posible to make one without problems in the future.

As dongosho said, you can base your company in bulgaria. Taxes are 10% and start up costs are extremely low. It is possible to start your company there, without even going to Bulgaria. PM for more imfo.
