Hey guys,

So I'm working on an e-commerce site and the plan is to build articles targeting long tail keywords to drive traffic. Just a quick question. Should I prioritise building links to product pages or homepage?

If it's an ecommerce site, you're going to want to initially build out your brand. Therefore, homepage.
 
The best way is to make a blog and post articles related to the store niche and include some products or some categories on the blog posts.
 
both > homepage and product pages

when they are sorted with unique quality content (text/photos) > next = category pages.

If i have to choose i would go for the homepage, but normally i would build links for both at the same time.

seriously????? what are the main keywords for ecommerce sites? >> products and product categories...

.. ok.. np.. you learn these things only after realising how important are sales coming from your ecommerce site > that is the moment when everything becomes clear and you stop dreaming.. it is all about real people buying stuff not about wanderers..
