Hi guys,

Wondering if any of you deal with eCommerce sites and could answer any of the following questions.

Is there a correct way to link products, or categories. e.g Link from a product description to a category. Not sure if there is a guide to go off, e.g 1-2 links per 300+ words? Mixed anchor text etc.

Blogging, is there much benefit writing content and linking to products or category pages? again how many links and how many words per link etc.

I need to rank over 2000 categories and 500 products, but obviously that's a huge job and not easy to do. So the best thing to do would be to focus on say 10 categories and 4 products, what would be the best method to rank these? My competitors don't seem to have any back links to the categories or products but have a higher domain authority around 60-70 max.

If I build high quality links to my homepage it'll increase my domain authority, and not really sure if it'll pass to inner pages and make it easier to rank them.

How would you rank the products and categories? I really need to make a plan and start working on it.

Hope anyone with information or any guides to point me in the right direction would be great.

I would recommend linking the product with corresponding categories once finished discussing the topic. For example, I wouldn't instantaneously offer you to by the product without first discussing the benefits of owning or using the product would I? No, that shows a bout of unprofessional-ism and "needynesss". Blogging, it is most certainly a benefit a blog link can get you close to people that are interested in that specific niche. Say if you're selling an SEO product or an online money making management team, where to put it?
Well BHW is certainly a great option. You instantly put your product or service in front of many people that are interested in that kind of business. Now for a technology product you could simply place it on any technology forum or blog that may gain attention if using a good amount of high quality links and search words.

Also, if you plan on making links to your inner pages, pick some good eye catching or interesting information on the front and beginning of the website or page that may want to link deeper into your space. But, remember to give notions that there is juicier information within.

Just a bit of tips.

Deuces.

Start with on-page seo. Also I've had some good results recently with 301s and PBNs.

How would you link pages? e.g blog content and then link to the category or product as long as it's relevant.

Would you link from a product description to the category for each product or is that overkill and spammy?

the more help and tips we get on e commerce the better

read the report aty posted very useful

Try to rank homepage and category pages, but it is all dependent on a niche, if you're niche is quite big (i mean general stuff), then i'd suggest you try to rank products
