Are ecommerce marketers becoming less relevant with the rise of DIY website builders that allow store owners to handle things themselves? I’d really appreciate some insight on this. What unique value can eCommerce marketers still offer to store owners today? Need you guys feedback on services to offer them, especially Shopify & Etsy?

Ecom marketers aren't cooked; DIY builders handle the "store," but you're hired for the conversion data and creative strategy that AI-generated templates can't replicate to actually scale a brand in 2026.

Huh can you give me some insights/demo on this?

You know like seo optimization, there are web & extensions that can handle that, likewise other marketing strategies, but how to get hire for conversion data and strategy that ai template can't handle?

Not even close. Most store owners suck at traffic and data so they still need help.

Focus on ads funnels and email thats where money is still made

DIY builders lowered the floor, not the ceiling , owners can launch a store but can't drive traffic, run paid ads, or optimize conversions. That's your lane, and it's not going anywhere.

I don’t think marketers are becoming irrelevant. Shopify and Etsy give you the basics, but traffic, analytics, strategy, and optimization are much less effective without a marketer. DIY builders are great for starting out, but the real value is making sure your products are seen, bought, and returning. SEO, proper photos, descriptions, and trends on Etsy — without experience, a lot can be lost
