The profits are simply great, especially due to the numbers they get sold in. I have been selling on eBay but since I have selling limits placed on me, I can't take full advantage of the range of products I can get to.
Dropshipping is not a profitable channel when you are looking to make the maximum profit, usually because your 'item location' is China and Authentic items coming from China just doesn't get the attention. Most of the items are manufactured in China, even the top brands have factories established there.
Secondly, the shipment charges for small items is atleast $7.50 whereas if you ship domestically you can ship the same package for $1-2, which means an extra $5. The most profitable items to me are infact less valuable items but rich in quality, they get all the attention and you can play with quantity to reach higher earnings from one single product.
Also for people looking to maintain 5.0/5.0 for shipment, you need to ship domestically yourself instead of getting it drop-shipped, some buyers, are impatient, atleast I was, they want the product over-night. So if they are going to receive it from a foreign country It could be a long 15-21days wait, buyers will then leave a low DSR rating which is just bad for the business.
You need some manual research, costs $0, to get to the best possible products that you could be selling and then order a trial order and then go on to large quantities.
