eBay watchers are?

I'm new to eBay. I bought some stuff and posted my own. However, I see sometimes no bids, but there are WATCHERS.

So I'm wondering who are watchers? What do they do? etc.
Is it something like people who "follow" the product?

I watch the items i wanna buy in future or items that i wanna sell -just to get the idea of how much they really sell for. I've had auctions where there were watchers but no bidders .

just my 2 cents.

oh i also add my watch to see the sell. it is a win win to see how many can be just like a sell
or buy. Good for product list!!
