Which site do you purchase mostly from ebay or amazon, which one do you prefer and why? I used to buy alot from eBay but as of late I buy mostly things from Amazon as they seem to be more customer focused and are generally shipped faster especially if the item is sold and or fullfilled by amazon.

Which site do you prefer and why? Let us know

I use both Amazon and eBay for shopping. However I do my sales mostly on Amazon, as Amazon buyers are willing to pay a bit more, there are less bargain hunters etc.

Yeah and there isnt that much hassle with Amazon selling because you get paid straigh to your bank, as opposed to ebay where you have to use Paypal.

I also find those fullfilled orders by Amazon much better as they are guaranteed delivery times and dispatched from amazon warehouses, so your less likely to get scammed.

At the end of the day, the price is what matters for most customers. Amazon is just 100% better to research products, get reviews, match prices, etc...

I like Amazon as well. So many times I've ordered something like a $100 calculator from ebay, only to find that its just a case. One time I ordered sunglasses for $380 but they weren't delivered. For the latter, they refunded my money, but the experience still isn't preferable. I'll only order from Ebay if the price difference is enough to justify the risk (15-20%).

Some are calling Amazon the "new eBay" because a growing number of eBay sellers are now listing their stuff on Amazon. As a consumer, I prefer to buy standard items (electronics, health food, books, etc) on Amazon. But, I still go to eBay for smaller, uncommon (not sold in local stores) and lower priced stuff like power adapters, spare parts, etc.

Amazon has very high expectations for it's sellers. When you first start selling, if you sell more than 1 item a day you will get hit by a account review period of 21 days in which you cannot get any of your money but can still sell. If you get 1 Ding, negative feedback, or some cancelled orders, refunds, A to Z claims, you will be suspended and your funds will be available in 90 days. Even if you do manage to get an account going, you only get paid at the end of 14 days. And Amazon is much more competitive since everyone uses the same listing for an item. You are all competing for space in the selling box, and the lowest price or top rated seller is at the top. And you can't change the shipping price which is locked at $4.49 unless you have a business account, so you can't really sell anything below $4.5. Personally I think eBay is that much easier to use and sell, and they have more lax seller requirements. That's my 2 cents on the topic.

I pretty much had to stop teaching classes on eBay because the DSR was destroying sellers and my classes went from "How to sell on eBay" to "How to Survive on eBay" - My Amazon FBA courses are nothing like that and you can see growth in peoples businesses.

On eBay, you're just a little flea market seller no matter how big you are, Amazon isn't like that.

I don't do online classes, because the most important parts of selling through Amazon FBA require and over-the-shoulder approach in assisting someone. If you do need help though, look up my name on Facebook - or feel free to ask questions here.

I prefer amazon to eBay: safer, better services and whole range of options: gift card, coupon, promotion and good products there.

This is very true. Also eBay is very accessible via telephone for its sellers, in some cases you can talk directly to trust & safety whereas on Amazon the senior staff are off limits and you're stuck with a ridged email appeal process.
