Hello,
I am an ebay Seller for last 2 years. I have been promoted to Top Rated Seller , Power Seller few months ago. I had no problem with eBay what so ever. Only issue is paypal and eBay high fees. I am thinking of building my own ecommerce store since total costs associated around 8-12 % over all. I sell a specific niche with around 50$ average items. We own the stock and have a partner who is working with me. Basically he does every thing ...
Just wondering who else is here with that rating and what are the tips of save more on fees ?

I was on your shoes once.
One little trick I recommend: use a credit card that gives you cashback. Use it to pay your fees, inventory, labels or any other cost. This can save you anywhere from 1% to 5%.
Pay it off before the billing cycle, otherwise the interest kills the purpose.\
If you feel uncomfy with a CC, use the PayPal debit card. It gives you 1% cashback.

Also make sure to take advantage of PayPal's merchant rates.
 
eBay charges fee in USD. My Credit cards are in CAD since i live in Canada. So the conversion rates will already kill it. I have paypal Business account. I think thats the lowest one you can have
 
I was , until they updated that stupid thing where you needed to have tracking uploaded within a certain amount of time and I was on vacation at the time and had a bunch of pending orders.
 
I am a power seller and a top rated seller. It really saves me big. Not only do I save on my final value fees I also only pay paypal like 2% instead of 2.9% and shipping is where I save big. Most of my items ship in flat rate usps express envelopes. Normally costs $18.95 at post office, I print shipping thru ebay for $12. I can either pass that savings along to my customer and make people happy or pocket the money and earn more profits.

I'm also a Top Rated Seller and Power Seller on Ebay. I'm surprised by how many people are eligible but choose not to take advantage because they don't want to have to offer returns or ship items out in one day. The savings are huge as far as I'm concerned.
