Thankfully I was so good with eBay, They never banned my account, although Paypal banned me.
My eBay account is still alive even though I was accused multiple times of fraud within bad feedback.
Drop shipping went bad, and eBay forgave me...simply told me I need to get my bad feedback to the 2nd or third page. eBay has real respect for their long time customers. I am considering starting to run that account again though linking a Paypal may not work... I don't want to give it up...
So here's what I have done for myself and clients that I created a presence for on eBay.
1. Buy a few Items, so that the account looks active and has a feedback score attached to it.
You can spend like 20-40 dollars and get some real necessities for your everyday life. Have them shipped from china and you pay next to nothing for what you order. Which is cheap, though you get your feedback and someday your item.
This is why eBay buyers will pay "your profit" for having the item location in their home country.
2. List Auctions as frequently as possible! THIS IS FREE SEO! 1st listing ranking guarenteed multiple times a day. When you run an auction and its ending soon. It goes to the very top of the list where many many people look to snipe auctions. This is a common search method. I have had adamant clients say they don't want to run auctions and I look them in the eye and disagree. This is free advertising space. List as many free auction listings as you can every month. I even recommend paying the dollar for a 1-3 day listing... So you can have auctions ending even more frequently...The more auctions the better, and hey they work to sell the item as well.
3. Add all 12 pictures to your listings. Not only is this more content for keywords, from the "meta tags" explained below. This is a good way to create a more complete listing in eBay's eyes. Not only should this help you rank, its a good way to exhibit your item to a customer.
4. Use Meta Tags. THIS_IS_A_META_TAG. I put keyword sequences in the meta tags. for example SMART_WATCH_BLUETOOTH. For every picture I can use another meta tag. Its a pain but when I have all 12 pictures meta tagged and uploaded to eBay. I feel like my listing is on steroids. I believe that the eBay system gives a lot of attention to this.
5. Fill in all the sub descriptions. Wherever it says Serial Number or MPN and all that other stuff... Use that space to throw in some more keywords, just make sure the serial number is in there obviously.
6. Make a content filled description. Make a description that's good and gets all the important information across. Its not important to have a description that is photo shopped and all business like. eBay buyers usually go by feedback and reputation. They want to do business with other people also...Not always business's. This is the old eBay vibe in my eyes... Before eBay turned into a melting pot.
7. Open a store. That door next to your username is basically Jr.VIP in this forum. People see it and they know you mean business. At $20 a month... its worth it. Also you save 1% or something on all your final value listing fees. So if you sell $2000 a month, it pays for itself. You should be looking to source products with high profit margins, which tend to be more expensive. I would say to make good profit on your items, you'll need to be selling $2000 a day at some point...which make the store a no brainer.
8. Get Watchers and Bids. Join a network or a group, that intends to do these things as a community. Ill put the link in my signature to a Facebook group. You can also make stealth accounts and pump initial bids into your items listing, while avoiding shill bidding because its illegal. You can also get watchers this way.
And Best for Last!,
Beat The Duplicate Listings Policy. The Most important thing to do when you find your top selling products is SELL MORE! eBay tries to stop you from doing just this... It is very easy, and im not bothered by this policy. No getting banned for trying to spin titles anymore...You just have to do this. Get more of the item in different colors, list all of the different colors, space them out a bit to avoid "flooding your market". That's really it, and you can also list bundles.
Example. My hot selling product is a Power Drill...
I find the same orange power drill, in yellow and black and blue. Now I CAN LIST 4 IN A DAY.
Don't stop there...list 8. Sell each of the colors AGAIN with drill bits included.
