Ebay Reviews....Exchanging Review(s) etc

Hi all,

I was considering opening an Ebay account and i've been reading about ebay accounts and even those for sale (older Ebay accounts are worth $).

Anyway, i was reading also about ppl doing fake purchases (from and to friends) to help get positive reviews up.

Seems like the perfect way to get account ratings up without waiting for 2-3 yrs for higher ratings.

Any Danger to doing this?

should be no danger if you don't do it with the same person over and over again. every once in a while is okay because a normal customer would also buy again at a shop where he was satisfied with the item and the service...
you just have to make it believable. so your friend shouldn't buying anything the minute you put it on ebay and you have to wait a few days before you give the feedback (to simulate shipping time)...

There is a lot of danger in doing this.

Ebay will be suspicious when no payment is made through paypal (which they own, can see transactions of, and share information through instantly).

You'll still be responsible for FVF's

You won't udnerstand the true ins and outs of an ebay business.... it gets tricky when you get into higher volume. Although I don't agree with the selling limits, if you think feedback inflation is a good idea, you need serious help.

As a last note.... no one really pays attention to a sellers feedback, except ebay. Higher feedback gets you higher in search results, but it doesn't always mean an increase in sales. People buy from people with zero feedback all the time. They disregard feedback because of ebay/paypal buyer protection.

There's also getting caught and getting suspended............


My opinion - don't do it.

I don't know in what country you are but where I'm from it's totally normal to not pay with paypal but normal bank transfer or whatever. I had a lot of customers who didn't even have paypal. why should that be suspicious?
I wouldn't do that to get hundreds of positive feedback but for a few I think it's okay so you are not so limited with a new account.
