So, say you have a lot of different auctions running on ebay and you design the advertisements so that people have to email you to ask more questions lets say. Once you receive their question, is it possible to send them a link for them to click on to check within the ebay system that is actually your affiliate link that you would then get paid on for them purchasing your auction?

I get so many people sitting asking questions each day, I figured why not try and get them to purchase after they click on my affiliate link, so I get paid on the auction they purchase from me.

IS there anything against the terms and conditions that makes this not a so good ide?

I don't think you can do that without getting in trouble. You could probably set up a landing page with FAQ's and post that link in the auction and in your email. Make sure there is a return to 3bay link (your aff id). This is basically what auctiva does with their images. Make sure it is related to the ads you have listed though.
 
you could send them to an autoresponder from your email me questions here button then have them click on some affiliate link in your first email to them they wouldot likely have to opt in though
 
This is definitely one of those grey areas. I like the idea about using the landing page and redirecting them back through your account with a link. I think I may try that.
 
One other thing I thought about doing is what if in the reply email you have a link that just say "Click Here to go back to Ebay" or use some sort of an ebay button or banner? Make that direct using your affiliate link and you'd be in business. Does ebay have any issues with that?
 
That should be "ok". Depends on epn's mood at the time. :D
 
depends on if its that time of the month for EPN... you know there monthly visit.


Payment time of course... LOL.... JK...


You might be better of listing ADs on ebay, and directing them to your site, and having your site be a referral to another auction of yours.

Your bypassing letting ebay know.

and staying somewhat ethical.

Affiliate links in emails are against the EPN TOS, unless you are specifically approved!

However you can have a link in an email to a landing page, then have an
affiliate link on the landing page.

Having the aff link in the email probably gets a better click through but going via a landing page is much safer.
 
just give them some 'chocolate chip cookie dough' in your email!!!

Not recommended, unless you want to get banned. Having a link in your auction that sends the visitor to your landing page to "get more info" is a better way to go. Another possibility is to use eb*y classified ads, again referring the visitor to a landing page where you have your aff link. Get creative and you'll find lots of ways to make it work for you.

affiliate links in emails without ebay approval will get you banned in no time you need to have your own opt-in list and to be on the safe side set a landing page for that purpose.
 
I'll check out the classifieds portion of this to see how that works.
