Ebay/paypal Scam

Hi All,

I have been on the receiving end of a eBay scam where I purchased a Iphone4 from a person with over 100 feedback. To later see his feedback plumit with negative feedback. Obviously I never received this phone but Paypal did refund me.

Now from reading about the stealth paypal accounts and ebay. I am guessing the seller used this and therefor Paypal ultimately loose out.

I have searched the forums and read for a few hours on similar scams but could never find something as such. I have a few questions on this.

1. Do people get away with this?
- How do they withdraw the money?
- Anyone ever been caught?

2. Anyone ever done this here? I know that its paypal losing out in the end and alot of people hate paypal.

Kinda funny you mentioned that, because I actually thought you were interested in trying the method til you said this...

Not at all, I would not like the risk. I just want to know if people actually do it and get away with it. If its this simple then people can take paypal for millions a year...

I will add to this. I read a post about someone scamming the 'scammers' by setting up a fake bank account and having them transfer money into their account for a percentage - people seemed interested in it but this method just seems a lot more safer and risk free. I have to be missing something right? It cant be that EASY to scam people via Ebay/paypal

This was in a guide on HF not too long ago. Basically the buyer sends the money to a secondary paypal account and the person who operates that second Paypal sends it or withdrawls it before paypal can get it back.

It's an interesting discussion indeed and it usually happens at the police station.

^^ not really. If that'd always happen then u will never ever see people crying thr hard earned moolah gone for ever lol

So no ones spilling the beans on this one huh? I would say if you just want to screw with/hinder scammers take the payment DONT SPEND IT and wait for them to take it back. It at least ties up money they could be using for other things/scams. I'm the type of person who will spend time messing with scammers. I dunno why its fun I'll be txting them all day long till they get SOOO pissed I piss myself laughing.
