Ebay Or Own Site with adwords?

OK... been considering getting back into ebay selling fa*ke ni*ke.

But from everything I have been reading I don't think I could be bothered with all the hassle.

Would I sell just as many with my own site (with a feedback system from satisfied buyers) using Google ad words and highly targeted keywords as I would on Ebay?

I would accept paypal so they have some protection

Just seems a whole lot easier for what I want to achieve.

Any thoughts from those in the know ?
 
Advertise on BHW
Fresh Content, Social Media (especially with fake n.kes), and just set up a cool site, and hire an SEO team.

Adwords does not work for eCommerce.
 
Selling fakes and accepting paypal? Seems like disaster to me.
 
Legit or non-legit own ecommersite is always the best choice....ebay sometimes makes more money on items sold than the seller. ebay is good because of the traffic it has, but with ecommerce you are free, no b.s with paypal limiting your account...dealing with ebay cutomers complaining about everything. ugh, im starting to remember my ebay days.

yes with own ecommerce site you are free, however, as you already said you are lacking the traffic ebay has .... it is very difficult to get traffic to own website, let alone targeted traffic. eBay will always give you targeted traffic, because if you are selling an iphone than only people looking for iphone will get to your auction .... however if you are selling an iphone on your own site most visitors are not targeted and will never buy an iphone ...

One more question, are you still allowed to sell ebooks on ebay ?

Could easily make an ebook for each product I am going to be selling with link to my site in it. I think I read somewhere recently that they now have a tangible good policy.

I recommend website + seo.

I'm also selling on ebay+website. I lure my ebay buyers to buy in my website.

It depends if you rank on a buyers keywords you will have a high conversion than ranking on a shitty keywords.
 
why not website + driving traffic to the site from ebay? It's not against ebay TOS to post link to a page with more information about the related product! And maybe you can lower the price on the site that the one on the auction so mostly everybody would like the idea to pay less and so you will avoid ebay and sell directly through your site!

Its a good idea but ebay will pull your listings for linking to a commerce site unfortunately. However If you had say an informational page about the product, and say added a fake comment on the bottom saying "oh hey I buy these from xxxx for $$$ you could always play it off as an accident? Just an idea

I tried many times until now. I have no problems. I even put in my description. 20 percent discount if you buy in my website. http://www.mysite.com.

I would prefer to go with ebay as many users there already why should I work hard for getting users and marketing my own site
 
I think selling your product on ebay is better than going for your own website with adwords activation
