Recently sold a item on ebay and mistakenly provided the incorrect product condition. I didnt realize it until I received a message from the buyer saying that the product has been damage, but when I shipped the product it was in working condition. Now the buyer is asking for a refund, but I listed the item as a "No Refunds". What will the most likely out come of this be? I understand that Ebay plays no role in the auction except for a mediator.
Good question, the buyer will probably raise a paypal dispute. You mentioned the item was in working condition when you shipped? Did you purchase insurance with the shipment? The bad news is Paypal most of the time sides with the buyer, the only thing you can do is try to make buyer proof the item is not working correctly.
You are probably going to save yourself a lot of headaches if you tell him to ship it back and you will give him a full refund. Seems like a decent compromise given the situation. Then relist it, make sure you relist it correctly, and recover your losses.
