Ebay contacted me for sellin replica

Hi,

I sold some replica items on ebay. Yesterday ebay comtacted me and informed about case. I sayd I don’t know anything about it, becouse I sold my ebay and paypal accaunts long ago.

What I should do next? What i should expect in future?

Back in 2005 I sold a shit ton of replicas on ebay. I eventually was contacted by Chanel's corporate office and sent me a very pretty cease and desist letter. Between 2005 - 2006, I attempted to sell other replica items from curling irons to polo and la coste t shirts. Every time I was shut down by the copyright owner, and ebay account suspended, it was such a hassle. I left the dark side, and made hundreds of thousands of dollars selling legit items, including items that i have custom manufactured for my audience.

Point being - there is a world outside of replica stuff.. i know the fast money is tempting but its just that fast, and it comes with a lot of hassle.

So to answer, what's next? Find something legit to sell.
 
OP, you may receive a visit from the Police, Customs & Excise, Trading Standards.
It depends how eBay were notified that you were selling fakes, chances are that those accounts are just going to get banned but the Brand owners may push it if you sold significant volume.
It might be time to do a spring clean.
 
I sold about 10 items for $400 but the real volume of items is about $1200 per item.

So need to get ready for some problems. :|

It is one of those things mate, if you take the risk then you have to be prepared for the consequences but if you only sold 10 items then I wouldn't panic too much yet.

why would u even do that? and if u did that why not to work with accounts that couldn't be traced.

Anyways i wouldn't worry too much about it. Next time be careful though u could get prosecuted and could get huge fine
 
Now I got linked to my other business ebay accaunts, all items in all accaunts listings is same. This is bad I think.
 
Don't worry too much, 10 items is nothing.

I used to sling a lot of gear when I was 15 or 16 and luckily got away with it.
 
Had the same problem. Had to go for interrogation to the police. Got a fine of 1200 euros so it wouldn't become a court case. I sold not that many articles. After the police will contact the brand owners and if they decide to continue they can ask 250 euros fine per item that you have sold. If there is no proof it's better to say to the cops that you can't remember exactly what you've sold. Like that brand owners can not ask fines as you do not declare what and how much you have sold. If there's proof it's fucked up and you'll need to pay.
 
Why don't you use Stealth accounts? They couldn't find you that way.
 
Selling a counterfeit designer item is a Federal Offense and considered Fraud. Sellers (on eBay or in the RW) can be hauled to court regarding fraudulent sales (even one), so it's a serous offense. Also, all designer items have to be positively authentic before listing or selling it. This means that if it wasn't purchased by you personally that it has to be authenticated prior to sale. Even if it was a gift from Aunt Sylvia who was rich and went to France every year and the seller is POSITIVE it's authentic because Aunt Syl would never buy a fake, it still needs to be professionally authenticated. I can't tell you how many fakes I've seen over the years from sellers with this story. If the seller did not buy the item personally at a Boutique or authorized high end Dept store, it needs to be authenticated. Hopefully you will not see any heavy legal action.
