Hi Guys,

i want to sell batteries on ebay. But there is a competition in my country. Not a big competition but at least people which are longer in the biz. I think they get the batteries(rechargeable lithium-ion) for a much better price than me. I want to open an online store as well but the eBay sellers have also stores. The only benefit is that they don't have any blogs to get targeted traffic to their products.
What are some strategys to keep up with the competition in eBay and online-stores? Do you guys recommend terapeak?

You certainly want to build a store if this is going to be something you put a fair amount of effort into... I have some tips in this thread that may help you out with the getting traffic to the store as well as traffic to your actual product pages.

You'll need to fashion it to your products and clients but I think there is something in there that would be of value to you for sure.

Batteries are a very "funky" commodity. Most cell phone batt's you can find on ebay ( the "original" ones - are fake. Depending on Country, those are mostly Nokia's and Samsung, especially in Europe.

Next problem is shipping. Lithium-Ion batt's are prohibited to be shipped by Air, even if they are part of a device. But there are ways around that.

Fake ones are dirt cheap but will get you nothing but a major headache. Generic ones with equal or higher capacity as well as all the safety features are available for most applications. A good generic BL-4C, for example, should not cost you more then 1.50 USD

Just a tip:for the duration of the item select "till good cancelled" to keep watching and sold numbers counting on the next period. If you chose others, you will loose all watchers and sold numbers from your listing and you will have a new item number which will kill possible SE rankings. Also keep in mind that if all the items sold, your listing will be cancelled automatically, keep an eye on your stocks.

Problem with stuff like that is everyone sells fakes so you won't get anywhere near the top of the listings
