ok, so i suck with ebay, but i thought i'd start a thread to ask for pple's help with ebay.

i've tried making money online ebay auction in the past, but the problem i've had is little or no bidders.

am i missing something, are you supposed to drive traffic to your auction? what are some ways to get traffic to your auction and get bids?

i've done everything from a fancy auction page, starting bids at 99 cents, usually i spend more on the auction than i make in sales

i'm looking to sell digital items now. I've sold drop ship items in the past, but it was a pain in the ass because when ever i did make a sale, the item would be out of stock.

any suggestions would be fantastic.

thanx

What type of products were you selling that wouldn't get 1 bid at .99? You don't have to do anything outside of posting the auction to get traffic to your item. It will just happen.

Tony, try Boomer script.
I do no not think you will regret it.
I know that I like it.

well, if you dont get anny hits on your auction, boomers script is kind of useless. no hits is no cookies that get stuffed.

yeh no hits to auctions will of course lead to no sales. u need to make sure ur titels are keyword rich but not to spammy.. also have a good prduct that sells..

personally id forget ebay as there is far more other wys to make $$$$ online.. i stopped ebaying cple yrs ago..

I'm with dan on this one.

I've loved ebay for many years and she loved me back with payments.

But I have since grown tired of her ways.

They are really starting to screw over sellers now and it
really is making me mad.

I've moved on to other stuff.

I used to kill it on ebay, until they started putting listing limits on certain keywords for highly copied items. They really screwed me with that, ggggrrrrrr!!!

Well, Before Starting I Would Do A Search At hxxp://pulse.ebay.com And Look For The Most Predominate Keywords In Your Items Listing Category.

Then List It In Your Item Title In A Understandable And Non Spaming Way.

For Example If The Most Search Keyword In Your Category Is Girlfriend And Wife (Which For Information Products It Is) And Your Item Is A Cookbook, You Could List Your Item Like:

The Super Awesome Cookbook! Empress Your Wife Or Girlfriend!

Or Something Along Those Lines.

Just Make Sure It Fits And You'll Do Fine.

If You Have Any Specific Question, PM Me And I'll Help You In Anyway I Can.

ok, ill give it too you straight,
generic items dont sell, some do but there is alot of competition on prices and generic items dont have a huge profit margin, get your hands on the hott items, what people want and need, but you want to know how to get them? search craigslist around your area and flip the items

but if you want to sell knock offs like most ebayers do, yes even me i used to sell knock offs on ebay when i first started and it was a bad habit and hard to let go i was making insanse amount of money somedays $700.00 profit another day $900.00, good days would go as high as $2000.00 arond xmas time, it was really addicting and while it lasted i loved the thrill

if you want to make a profit you need to give people what they want, you get them what they want and they will find your listing on ebay.

Remember you could sell anything on ebay you just have to be smart and have a mind for it.
you could sell anything from digital products - knock offs and guess what those categories are both banned on ebay but there are people smart enough to keep their accounts up.

i dont encourage selling counterfeits on eBay though as it will get you suspended guaranteed, im just sharing my 0.02
but if you know how to make multiple accounts, like some people do ... =D
you can join the crowd of thousands....

also you can search the dropshipping side of the forums on which dropshippers to use or look into, i have gave some sites my review

here it is...

I have tryed alot of wholesale websites, these are my opinions

- worldwidebrand - Not worth the money, couldnt believe i spent all that money and got back nothing in return, i was looking for electronics to sell, worst place to look. If you want to make like 50cents to a dollar profit an auction, i have found a couple of sites on worldwidebrands list, but other then that its crap.

- slashedpricetag.com - its OK, i have only sold cellphones a hand full of times and dropshipping came in handy, don't need to keep stock, but price is a little high, but the things they do, its worth it in the end.

- liquidation - its also an OK, website they offer you name brand electronics for sale BUT ou have to buy a huge pallet in order to receive them. So it really comes down to is if you want to keep any stock, and when you usually buy a pallet, there is a little note on the bottom saying we are NOT responsible for any broken items, so if your investing thousands of dollars in buying a pallet your really taking a risk, but if your buying clothes and perfume and all that its a great site.

- alibaba - i do NOT recommend you use, there are alot of people that will lie to you just to get a sale, when you buy from there make sure you look at the sellers feedback, use your brain, if its too good too be true, it usually is. So be careful, i do NOT recommend this site for people new to the game. ;)

If you have anymore questions or concerns, let me know ill try to answer them
=D

goodluck.

'...With eBay auctions you have to be cheap. You can and will sell crap, but only if it's cheap enough. Once you sell reserve price items the real competition starts and now you can sell the same items as others for a higher price if your presentation is creative.

Obviously, you must be selling something that buyers want, but on eBay that seems to be just about anything.

Whatever you are selling, see who else is selling it and copy, or better, what they are doing.

Also, don't sound desperate. There's nothing puts a buyer off more than someone whose life depends on that one sale. Present the facts about the product without too much sales-talk.

There is still a lot of money to be made on eBay. Just roll with the new rules.

What better way to feel you are screwing eBay than to make tons of money off their auctions?

find a program called hotitemfinder and do some research. i thought the link was on here - try searching for it. it's a great program for auctions.
