EBay and Pepperjam

A few folks have asked if anyone has been approved by Ebay. I was approved yesterday.

Are you Fucking Kidding Me???

I chatted with Mandy too using the chat box provided by Pepperjam and I got approved. Very nice customer service...

Also, I found out that Pepperjam is using their EPN account to track commission. ;)

The link they are providing gets forwarded to EPN tracking link and then to destination page.

This system is nothing but same kind of system like shoppingads.com...

Unfortunately, people who are facing problem with EPN tracking will face the same problem with Pepperjam.

Are you Fucking Kidding Me???

Well...the link they are providing is getting forwarded to EPN tracking link and then to destination page. For e.g When I created text link for destination page ebay.com, I received following non-encrypted link -

Code:
http://www.pjtra.com/t/2-4**1-7*99-69**?sid=denny&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com

The above link is getting forwarded to below EPN link and then to destination page ebay.com -

Code:
http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/71*-53*0-192*5-0/1?type=1&campid=53*5*47*3&toolid=10001&customid=77*9-453*57-denny&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com

So...basically Pepperjam link automatically generate custom id and they will track the commission of my Pepperjam account with custom ID result which they will get from their EPN account.

We are just acting like sub-affiliate of Pepperjam's main account with EPN...

Denny

I am so disappointed it's not funny...

Do their cookies at least last 30 days like they have advertised, or is it the same 7 day one that e*p*n has, and only 30 day for new signups?

We are just acting like sub-affiliate of Pepperjam's main account with EPN...

I got this email shortly after joining the pepperjam network. It pretty much outlaws most ppc and paid traffic....

Thanks for signing up to the eBay Partner Network - we really appreciate your continuing support.

Over the last few weeks, many of you have been asking questions about our policies regarding use of paid search campaigns and ad networks. We thought it would be helpful to provide some clarifications. This is important, because any affiliate that violates the eBay Partner Network Code of Conduct, Network Agreement, Program Terms or Privacy Statement runs the risk of being expired from the eBay Partner Network and/or having their pending commissions reversed.

Paid Search

What is Paid Search?

  • Direct Paid Search is where an affiliate buys keywords on a search engine and directly links the traffic to eBay from the search engine's sponsored listings.
  • Indirect Paid Search is where an affiliate purchases keywords, but directs traffic to a non-eBay domain landing page that contains links to eBay.

What is prohibited?

  • Direct Paid Search on the Tier 1 search engines of Google, Yahoo and MSN, and any of their content networks, in the US, UK, Australia and Canada programs.
  • Bidding on keyword eBay or any derivation of eBay on any search engine and directly or indirectly linking to eBay.
  • Utilizing automatic redirects to eBay from an Indirect Paid Search landing page with the intention of masking the true direct nature of the advertisement.
  • Please note the above list is not intended to be comprehensive. Please make sure that you are familiar with all of the eBay Partner Network terms and conditions.

Ad Networks

We understand that some affiliates purchase inventory in other ad networks to promote eBay. The eBay Partner Network does not explicitly prohibit the use ad networks; however each affiliate is responsible for the quality of all of the activity on their account. If you use any ad networks, we advise using great caution and that you thoroughly understand their product offering, because you are accountable any policy violations caused by activity within the ad networks you use. Violations we have seen in the past are mostly related to Section A of the eBay Partner Network Code of Conduct which states that the delivery of cookies or any sort of tracking tags not initiated by the affirmative action of an end user is strictly prohibited.

Here at the eBay Partner Network, we consider maintaining a high quality network as a critical component of our job. It helps us ensure our valued affiliates get full credit for the activity they drive and helps us provide them with competitive payout terms. We'd like to thank the vast majority of our affiliates who are doing their part in maintaining the quality of their traffic as well.

Regards,

The eBay Partner Network Team

I wish their cookie can last for 30 days if somebody bid or buy on ebay but that's not the case. Pepperjam has the same rule like EPN...;)

^ Was a shot in the dark... Did you switch back to e*p*n? or are you with pepper*jam now?

I'm with pepper*jam, but might switch back to e*p*n

^^ I got that email too...

I got the same email from EPN yesterday.
Did you get that email from EPN or Pepperjam

So it looks pretty easy to get approved by PepperJam. Do you need a website in order to be approved?
Is it allowed to be both a member of EPN and PepperJam?

Also, has anyone tried using PepperJam with BANS?? Is it even possible?

Just spoke with Mandy again and good news!

She said:
"Mandy Foley: yes, if you promote ebay through pepperjam network, everything is tracked
through pepperjam network."

So I take that as them being separate from e*p*n.

pepperjams click stats are almost real time, so i think their tracking isn't reliant upon EPN

Of course it will track through Pepperjam but the commission gets generated into to their EPN account with custom ID attach to that...

I also talked to Mandy and she told me the same thing like you are telling me.

So..believe Mandy or believe Denny :D

lol...

I will give you my EPN affiliate link with custom ID attach to that by converting that in to tiny URL or encrypted link. You will have real time click status for the same..;)

point taken :o

I have lots of clicks at pepper*jam and $0.00.. Beginning to think e*p*n is better

i have 10k clicks and ~40, but the earnings report lag really bad, at least 2 days in my experience
