eBay alternatives?

So a lot of people here I'm sure can talk about a bad experience they've had with eBay, why stay with them at all?

Sure they are the kings, but what about uBid? Or eBid?

Surely other people must visit these sites as well! Do you still receive the same exposure and same ending prices - or are the sales not nearly as good?

I don't personal use any of those sites, but as logic goes, the sales would drop in-definetly.

Picture this, you use google and trovi search engine to search the same term, the results are significantly different. Google is definetly more superior than other search engines at the moment. Same goes to ebay.
 
Not a bad idea to use all marketplaces to your advantage, but nothing is going to
completely replace eBay based on traffic.

I have used all of them and none compare to your audience on eBay, the one exception being half which is a branch off of eBay and they have all your information but I have had no problem selling with them for quite some time. Much slower sales but they are there.

Do you prefer auctions or fixed prices with these other sites?

I'm using seoclerks as well as Ebay. It has good traffic.
 
It really depends on what you sell. Certain items (especially niche items) sell better on other sites. For example, almost anything handmade would do better on Etsy compared to eBay. Items considered to be VERO, which are near impossible to sell on eBay, can easily be listed on ioffer. Traffic will never be as high as on eBay, but it doesn't hurt to put up a few listings on other sites as well, to increase exposure.

half is set prices like amazon I generally try and undercut all other sellers, occasionally you will get a high sale price for something that otherwise wouldn't sell for as much on eBay because the listing sits tell someone buys it.

They are set prices only on half much like amazon, I generally undercut all sellers and wait for the item to sell it's much slower then eBay but if the right buyers comes along you can make more then eBay. I am specifically talking about half, ebid I have used both pre fixed/auction and never had one sale they don't get nearly as much traffic as eBay or amazon, eBay sometimes directs traffic to half hence a bigger audience.
