I'm looking for another site like ebay. I cant stand selling on there anymore. Anyone know a site that gets a good amount of traffic that I could sell on.

Have уоu trіed Google Product Search? It's bеcоming increasingly popular, аnd they don't charge tо list products.

Also, while it's good tо search fоr nеw sales avenues and increase traffic, уou ѕhould also conѕіder nurturing уour existing customers. A person who buys frоm yоu oncе is, оn average, 70% mоre lіkely tо buy frоm yоu аgaіn than a person who haѕ nеvеr bought from you. It's thеrеforе senѕible to optimize your relationship with уour existing customers beforе уоu seek new ones.

For example, whеn а nеw customer buys frоm you, cоnsіdеr sending a survey to gather information on hіs preferences in уоur industry (for example, "Which sport аre yоu most enthusiastic about?", аnd thеn based оn hіs answer trу to understand whіch aspect оf thе sport іѕ most important, or whіch position they play in). You cаn later send thеm highly relevant newsletters related to their specific interest, demonstrate thаt yоu care аbout informing the customer оnlу аbout his specific interest, and surely you аrе much morе likelу tо gеt а sale then, or a recommendation.

Can I use this service in Australia?

If you have good product with good price better build your own site. This way you don't have to worry about getting banned.

ioffer.com has much traffic but the price for all item cheaper than ebay

For long term, this is great idea. You can simply buy website or domains and hire freelancer to build it for you

I agree....building your own site is the way to go. Sites that focus on very specific products seem to do better than 'free for all' sites.

I've also used social networking to list my products.

I have an idea; Let's sell backlinks on Google Product Search.
:)

Like everyone says, your site is the only way to go. Ebay is like a pacifier, spit it out yoiu dont need it anymore.

Yeah gets the traffic for you, yeah all you have to do is list it and forget it, but ebay crushes dreams.

Build your own site, get your own traffic, and most importanly build your own business!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm on a really tight budget, but i agree about making a site being the way forward...so i wanted to know what sort of price you guys pay for a website selling a single product? the quotes i've had so far have been eyewatering to consider what i'm after is so simple... Any advice much appreciated.

When I started my first website I used homestead.com, that was 6 years ago. They have better build a sites now like yahoo stores and volusion that are a little more SEO friendly.

I was paying about 60 bucks a month, and was doing over 250k/yr so its worth it.

I was thinking zencart, with a template...but just the quotes i've been getting to have it installed and set up were painful.

The product is pretty microniche, so i don't really expect to make much a month...but i would like to set it up as a second income stream alongside ebay.

While it may sound repetative, or even juvenile, C-List happend to have a very large amount of local traffic, as well as being a nice fee-free and cash alternative. It obviously is only attracting local customers, but saving all those fees for every transaction can really add up.

For such a low income and slow selling product, maybe try using a basic free e-commerce software and have your site hosted by a cheap host for like 8-15 bucks amonth. Profit margins will increase, even though they are small. In the real world, I have sold merchandise at cheap flea markets that have a 50-100 dollar setup fee. Yeah, I might have got ten times better traffic at a more proffessional and larger flea market, but the vendor fees might have run me 500-1,000 dollars for the day. Just IMHO

Godaddy has a shopping cart for $10 a month, for what it's worth.
