Just got on ebay and am having trouble finding buyers. How do i gain traction?

I have a good connection on otterbox cases for iphone4/5 and all samsung cases. The are authentic cases and i have a wide assortment of colours.

How do i promote my page and is 20$ a case a good starting price? Any advice is welcome.

You have to do a bit of SEO on your listing so you show up near the top for what you are selling or you will be buried by the other listings.

And some people may pay $20 for a phone case but many will buy a cheap $5 or less case from Amazon, am I saying you cant sell a $20 case? No but it may be a little difficult

When you start with a new ebay acc you need to go for less comp items because ebay will automatically place you at end of search results. All of the big players have already claimed the cell phone accesories category. Build up your repo with low competition items, to build up your feedback, and cross the 90 day period mark

Start selling used cheap items you have around your house. Thats what I did. dont go for the big niches that people are in already. You will get wrecked. Its like standing outside walmart and trying to beat them lol... Start low. 4 bucks. 3 bucks. 2 Bucks. EVEN a Dollar auctions will help. Get the 10 feedback score atleast for feedback score of 10 and a yellow star!

you need feedback, a huge part of ebays search ranking is down to feedback.

spend $100 on cheap $0.99 items, just for the feedback

Like everyone else suggested get feedback first, sell some things you don't need and get maybe 20-30 feedback if you sell 100 thing you'll get an ebay power seller award or something like that, when you list the otter boxes list them at 19.99 + shipping and make sure you include GENUINE in the title

I would recommend looking on this forum on the ebay threads, most people are beginners. Link up and make a network to give each other the feedback you guys need to progress. Just crossed my mind ...

you want do do exactly what numbuh has said also try listing in 2 different categories

I agree with some posts: specify in title that what you sell is genuine.

Also, buyers prefer free P&P as well as fast delivery. So it's good to make it clear in the title as well that you are shipping locally (country speaking) so they get the good fast. People will prefer this than receiving some purchase from the other side of the world.

Good luck

As long as you can supply an invoice if they temporary restrict your account you should be fine.

When getting top results on the best match page takes alot of different tatics

What will help:

Max Out Pictures
Alot of Sales within the first 24 hours
Alot of Watchers within the first 24 hours
Good Feedback Ratio, not required but helps in listing especially top rated

Honestly if you have a few stealth accounts and bought 10 of your own products, you would seriously see bump up in the best match page. I know and speak by experience
