Been frustrated with the recent ebay banning, troubles, and wooes? Well the same certainly happened with the very company your are trying to milk!

eBay itself as a company is still struggling, with loosing profits and deteriorating market cap since the 2004.

One of the comments that captivated my attention is this:

Well what can I say, in the future, it will certainly be harder to sell as new ebay seller. While this may indeed frustrate the hell out of new sellers, we now know that ebay cares more about its buyers and finding those new markets. I would advise folks to nurture your ebay seller accounts and don't let them die out.

As a lot of you may know, many critizes that this will deteriot the veteran sellers' trust, or the overall sellers in general, and that this will actually kill the business.

I'd say Donahoe largely ignored sellers inputs and continues to make these radical changes that angers all of us sellers.

So those coming-up "No Active-contents on auction page" is indeed going to befall upon all of us sellers, but certainly by the looks of this news, it may get stalled.

eBay is still struggling internally and financially, along with the current economics environment, which may be obvious that they are redirecting all their efforts towards that and gets stalled on restructuring out ebay.com. May we hope it will get all stalled for a very very loong time.

Nothing been said about EPN in the news obviously. But with that said, with the recent random ban on EPNs, it may be just that eBay is trying to cut its losses and trying to save its deteriorating financial position. They are trying to cut corners with this rigid, fraudelent method (to the white hats at least )

What do you guys think the correlation between eBay's losing money and the random EPN banning? Isn't it just too obvious that they're trying to cut corners? Is this justification valid in legal court anyway?

Just a few months ago i had a go at listing an auction on ebay. It is absolutely without a doubt fucking awful. I cannot believe just how shit ebay is. In New Zealand we have a similar site called trademe.co.nz, and i always thought if ebay moved into new zealand trademe would go under. But after seeing just how f-ing hard it is to list a damn auction im not so sure. The fact that everything has to do with gaypal is even more frustrating. The site to me is like an old old site that decided it would try a bit of web 3.0 and fucking over did it. I get led in circles everywhere i go and its fucking frustrating having to go through a million pages to get where you want to do.

EGay screwed the pooch when they got away from the concept of being "The World's Biggest Garage Sale", and started catering to the huge sellers. They have forgotten about who got them to the top of their game. The little guy.

They have some poor executives and strategists, that's for sure. I can only assume that they're extremely foreign to the webmaster and internet community. Their platform is also extremely bloated and exaggerated, and associating with PayPal is dragging them through the mud, PP is a fascist parasitic and careless company, and they will bring down ebay. They do have more than enough money to fix their issues, but just like Wikifraud and Microsoft's, I don't see where it's spent.

The part where you say that eBay is "associating with PayPal" is kind of inaccurate.

eBay IS PayPal.

If I'm not mistaken, the same company owns both.

I'll tell you my experience has been less than great with ebay lately. I used to do lots on it, both buying and selling in a personal account and in another account I only used for business. Some of the changes they made were real head scratchers, and some were really bad. Then the fees came in and they took the profit out of everything that wasn't a wholesaler or drop shipped new item. You could tell by what your profit was going to be on an item if you bought it at a garage sale and resold it, it was no longer a bargain for the buyer, and there it sat.

So I say, they forgot how they got to where they are and who put them there--all the little guys.

Their slide toward death valley will probably be slow and painful and they'll get a bunch of dirt up the back of their shirts, but, so what. Too bad for them. They had it and then got greedy and lost it. or are sitting around watching themselves lose it, which has to be worse. That's The BHW lesson for today. Don't be too greedy if it works.

I used to buy almost everything from ebay. Nowadays i wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot poll. It's full of pure crap and sellers who like to "Stretch the truth"

How the fuck is eBay struggling financially?! If they are that's very, very funny. I'm sure i read, quite some time back, that they used to make do something like $xxxm per day in sales or something, and their fees along with Gaypal, surely more than cover their costs?

Maybe Pierre's acquired a rich taste for coke, whores and Dom Perrignon? Anyway, a simple solution: They should get rid of their stupid fucking ads (who puts ads for other places within their shop?!), go back to the old eBay and stop acting like a bunch of loving caring cunts. All they've ever done is fuck people, why start acting nice now and come down on the sellers, which so willingly once paid their wages?

I have to second (or third) the comments about how very difficult it is to navigate their site (as a seller). The site is bloated, slow, and downright painful to use. It's been this way for years now.

Sites like craigslist are helping to bleed ebay out. I love c-list for selling stuff now. Simple, fast, local and free. Hmmmm, isn't that what made ebay big to start with?

As the old saying goes, "be careful how you treat people on your way to the top because chances are you'll run back into them on your way back down."

Unfortunately for them, it may be too late to recover. It is impossible to screw so many people and not go down yourself.....nothing lasts forever, not even the almighty ebay.....

I used to buy and sell on ebay years ago, it was SO easy. Now the site just plain fucking sucks to try to sell on.

Simple example is today. I need something for a party on Saturday, I check ebay to see if anyone has a buy it now etc. The only one I find is an actual auction that ends in 2 days. I post an ad on CL in the wanted section. Within 5 minutes of posting my CL ad, someone emails me and tells me a store in town that carries what I needed. Problem solved locally, and I don't have to pay $20 fucking dollars for express shipping.

There you have it!

They shit on their customers and are nothing but scandlers so I could care less if they went under today. Karma is a bitch.

Didn't expect this turned to be a place for ranting, but these are nothing more than speculations guys..., just like in the good old stock market game. And fuck up Wikipedia, they reported the net income wrong.

A quick look at their comparative income statement, their 2008 year-end net income is the strongest during the last 5 years, at $1.7 billion.
