Ebay 1 cent / penny auctions for digital goods allowable?

You can try calling ebay directly and ask point blank what the policy is. I have sold digital goods (instagram accounts) on ebay in 2013, and got a few sales before they ultimately hit me with a strike. If it's a banned item you might have some luck like I did with a sale or two before someone either reports it or their workers/software pulls up a red flag and they manually review your store.

Ebay have lately been clamping down on seller running 1P auctions, in fact if you put 'penny auction' in your title it says something along the lines of 'this term has been associated with listing to manipulate feedback, and is not allowed'
So I think they have got wise to buyers/sellers using 1p listing to bump up their feedback

If they notice a pattern of this they will ban you for suspected feedback manipulation.

I miss the days where you could get 500-2000 feedback in a few weeks by doing penny auctions.
Penny auctions will get you banned sooner or later. Your account will not last long, so it's not worth it anymore .
