We can also market our articles by posting them on top reputed journals and blogs.

I set Google alerts for specific content articles that my audience would be looking for. Then I start creating anchor text and backlinks to my sites.

Writing articles online should be the main purpose to post on blogs and then submit them to other 2.0 websites

Yes thats a good way. Articles that have good content and have embedded links in them are always the initiators of traffic.
