great to know it,
dude whats the point of giving all these noobs this shit? fuck em
Just a heads up to some of you guys, and another thanks to the OP for the idea. In the same spirit as the OP i'll help some of you guys with the Facebook issue. (You may need sprint for this, or at least a phone that can handle Google voice.)
This method worked for me a few days ago for a Facebook verification.
Signed up for tropo, scripted a simple application that will forward calls to any number I designate in RB. Now keep in mind you may need to tweak some timeout settings. (there are examples on the tropo website) I then added some numbers to my application, waited about 10 minutes and verified some google accounts by forwarding the calls to my cell through Tropo.
With those google accounts I used them to sign up for google voice.. What I then did was create GV phone numbers and tried using google voice via the web to sms verify Facebook. (FAILED) BUT in true IM fashion, I tried some other methods because I'll be damned if i give up before trying everything... lol...
So basically using my HTC Evo, I replaced my google voice on the phone with one of the new ones and used my phone to SMS Facebook with the google voice number. On Facebook I chose Sprint as the carrier, and VWOLLA, success. I think it coming from the sprint network made the difference. I could imagine this being a pain in the butt on a massive scale though.. But for those of you on a budget who have a few brain cells to rub together.. This could be a viable solution with making a couple accounts here and there.
I don't really see there being some kind of ramification for doing this on a regular basis with your phone, but then again... I wouldn't try it too often without possibly risking your phone account. (I personally haven't tried it more than once) Also i would suggest choosing your personal cell phone carrier for the verification.
Hope this helps some of you.
I would like to say thank you OP for the info. It worked for me when I created several Gmail accounts. I just have a few questions, though.
1. When they decide to charge you, would they give warning that they'll charge you or would they do it automatically? I don't have a paypal account or any means to pay because I'm still a student.
2. Is it true that only 3 accounts can be used per number?
Thank you very much!
