I will talk more from money side of graphic design and not so much about tutorials and stuff you need to learn in graphic design.If u really want to learn you will manage to find the right lessons that suit your level of knowledge.There are tons of free tutorials,books and videos...as you will see.

Now lets talk about business.

Bad news - if you are looking for a quick way to turn your computer into ATM machine better said ,to make some money - Graphic design is certainly not a Fast Solution.

Good news - you don't have to be a master in order to start making money with graphic design online.There are tons of professional designers who think they should know a little bit more about design,or that they are not good enough and keep themselves away from earnings and action.

Focus on something and learn it properly.For example go and learn how to create logos in Illustrator.Simple text based logos.You can always present your work here and ask for review from fellow members.After that you can get into action on sites like 99design and get the real feedback from clients.Dont wait and dont be afraid of competitors expertise level or portfolio.The beauty is in the eye of the one who look at your design,you can never know what will going to work for certain person,so you must show your design and get response.When i started to learn graphic design,i was surfing big company websites,and design community websites and iv tried to emulate what iv seen there.Try to create in Illustrator or Photoshop exactly the same effects like they have on their banners,logos..While your doing that you will learn a ton of practical things.

* You Can make nice money in short period of time but you need contacts,regular customers,some kind of exposure,which you don't have at this level..you'll have to create your service pages like the rest of the people on freelancer sites,forums,facebook,youtube..whatever platform that can get you potential clients..You can always buy advertising or create your own website/portfolio and promote that all over the place...but at this point it is the best for you to learn and create design to gain much needed experience.

Just don't get into loop of knowing everything regarding graphic design,you'll end up learning all the time, and not earning anything.

One last advice - Good old Leonardo Da Vinci said: "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication." Go for crisp and clean design in the beginning,don't get carried away with all the options you have in Illustrator or Photoshop.Experiment with it,get familiar with all the tools but don't over-think your design,you'll never be satisfied with your work that way.
