Hitfilm, Davinci, etc are all too complicated and full of panels that cause confusion and are not at all needed. They drive me crazy. I use Windows Movie Maker 10- /
HD Movie Maker - PRO
You can download the free version to try it out and then upgrade. I suggest the pro version to get all the features plus ability to save projects. I got it for $9 for
one time purchase but now it was up to $15. I see that there is a black friday sale right now for $8.99. They keep adding features and the interface is clean, uncomplicated and simple to use. Get it at the Windows store.

I also use CANVA Pro for video content. A little over $100 for a year and they pull in stock vids and pics from many diff places including free and sub services like storyblocks. I have used several diff video makers -both online and installed plus several diff stock video sources- l and finally settled on CanvaPro because of the variety of choices. It is the best I have ever come across.
You can actually use Canva as a video creator to make YT size videos. Just go to their presentations ( my aff link: https://bit.ly/3j1s17K b ) , find a template, switch out text and content to make your video, add transitions plus you can change colors and add elements, as well. They even have royalty free music that you can add now. They keep adding new features. Each slide is a mp4 video unto itself. Click to download, select all of just a few of the slides - and it combines all of them into one big video. with or without music.
Canva also has instagram, pinterest, etc video templates that download as mp4's. Plus, pro version lets you upload directly to fb,, instagram, twitter and some others.
Here is a sample of the ones that I make ( I use my own voice over):
Well, hope this all helps.
