    Hey,

I have a client who just wants a one page site, a landing page with company details, images, etc.

He doesn't have a crowded niche but i was just interested as to what experiences people have had with trying to rank a one page website?

What will my chances be of getting to the top of the SERP's with it?

    Thanks!

google ranks every page seperately, not entire sites.

plus every clickbank landing page is usually single site.

It all depends on the key words that you're trying to target. The more popular the key words are the harder it will be to get indexed on the first page. It's definitely possible to get indexed in the top ten search results, even number one with a one page site.

Google recommends that you offer some useful service so that you increase the probability of being linked, discussed and bookmarked.

Here?s what Matt Cutts thinks of it:
?We had somebody that was doing a language translation site and they were wondering ?Why don?t I rank No 1?? and so I checked out their site and it was literally like a brochure ? 5 pages, contact us, about us, this is what do we do?and then I looked at who the no 1 site was and the number one site was talking about Japanese to English translation and had a lot of tutorials? Here?s how you can write your name in Japanese?and all these facts?

I?d suggest you add more pages with detailed explanations and demonstrations on what you are and what you got to offer. A hollow website defeats the very purpose of having one.
