Easy $$$ Promiting Offline For Online Casinos

On my cards i advertise it as a special club. In theory it should work, but hey, ive gotta see if i can actually get them spread around first. But ya, You can just hand it out on the streets nearby the casino. That, imo, smells like epic fail though.

in quite many poker rooms you can hold PW protected tournament , maybe for people who you want to sign under you , or just for fun :O ( can't see any fun in that tho).

It's funny, before I started online and before I started playing poker, I was in advertising sales, yellow page ads to be exact. When I first started I though I would just walk into a business and WOW them with my practiced pitch and walk out with the CASH.

Over time I learned my best deals were almost always a product of casual conversations at the bar after work or by meeting people in other social situations - pickup basketball, softball leagues, etc.

My experience in sales really helped me when I ran my poker biz. My money came from playing poker, having a good time, and meeting people. Only then would I tell them about my site.

I'm not saying fliers are a bad idea...I'm just saying after you've spent some time in the real world of sales you understand why they aren't very effective.

Take what he says and remember it forever. He's right, networking before marketing. This is what Perry Belcher is going on about as well. Make friends with people who play cash poker. Then ask them to join an online poker event with you. Rushing it - fail.

Personally, I wouldn't be going around and just handing stuff out. This works in some cases but there is usually little ROI. The reason that a live freeroll works is because it is easy for the person to understand. They get to play poker just like they do at their buddy's house but they can win $5k with a $0 buy-in. All they have to do is download software, fill out a form and then they are good to go. It's an easy sell.

Hosting an online tourney with your friends isn't as appealing as the casinos make them seem. You have to get all your friends to install the same software, deposit money etc etc just to gamble with each other. Most guys would rather just go down the street to play with everyone face to face.

IMO, If you are going to pitch any real poker player about playing online, you have to play to their ego. Tell them if they know what their doing they can go on your site and fleece the players left and right.

i see someone mention using zango traffic to drive more sign up for poker affiliate programs.

This is what all the big poker ebook guys did back before the UIGEA. They used to sell their "make money playing poker ebooks" and let affiliates sell them for 75% commissions on a $67 or $97 sale. the real money was on the back-end signing players up to sites.

Same strat was used with Adwords. The poker ebook itself at $47, 67, 97, whatever, was a stop loss and the real business was on the back-end.

All you needed to do was break even on Adwords on the front end and you were golden.

Oh....one more thing. One age group and location where this could be the most effective is if you live in a college town and can target young 18,19,20 year old players.

Poker sites love new players, and young players tend to have more time to play and lose. They also usually have brand new CC's they get at those tables they have set up around campus!

I replied to the other posting about a similar method you will not get away with it. There are cameras everywhere in casinos and if they catch you handing out cards promoting any other gambling offer not only will you be told (in no uncertain terms to leave) but the casinos all work together and will post your details and pics to every other licensed casino nationwide and you will be barred from entry. Also if you just left the cards with an affiliate link it would not be long before both the online casino and the affiliate program would be contacted and you would have your account shut. I have worked in this industry and they protect their own turf fiercly. In the old days they would have taken you for a ride I recommend you do not attempt this and their security have little humor. Let us know what happens should you attempt this method

hey i just finished the last post and then next read this thread in the same forum this would work and is a lot more clandestine. In fact this would be one of the best offline marketing systems i have ever heard of. read this thread.
