An easy way to get PR5 backlinks:

Just join in any freelance forum - getacoder, scriptlance - it's free.

    Post a project.

Put your site name in the title.

Use your keywords to describe your site and end with "I want some articles written", etc.

Not only do you get amazing backlinks, and also assured traffic!

The same goes for .edu and .gov sites, find a job board on one of those sites and post a job there and you will get instant backlinks.

You can turn off the 'email notification' option.

Or just create an id, exclusively for this...

Can anyone point me to an example? It sounds like a reasonable strategy but I'd like to see it in action. ;)

That would depend on your actual site content. If you're posting to an irrelevant .edu or.gov site, then yes, you can easily get "boxed", but if your site is in the same niche that you are requesting "work" for, I don't see why they would box you.
