Easy/Boring Jobs

Hey everyone,

I was hoping for some suggestions: What is a job that is easy and/or boring and offers the best work-life balance? Something like the night host at a radio station that nobody listens to...

Like many of you, I don't believe that my most likely path to success is in a "regular" job. I have some plans to start up my own side gig, but of course, I can't do that if my 9-to-5 job is requiring tons of overtime and stressing me out so much that I can't focus on anything else.

I have a unique ability to "zone out" in boring situations, so sitting in a room alone with no interaction would not be an issue for me. I'd stare at a wall for eight hours if you paid me.

Any ideas?

A lot of industries need people to simply monitor the equipment and only act if something is off, for up to 12 hours a day. E.g. oilfield
 
Get a job in security, preferably only night shift.
You'll have 8 hours of literally nothing to do, aside from checking the room next doors every 2 hours or so.
 
Provide a service where you offer "up-to-minute serp results" where you sit there and hit the search over and over again.

well , i work for saudi aramco company and its 3 shifts , morning , after noon and night , Yes the morning and the afternoon You feel like u are about to die because the heavy work you do, but in the night shift there is nothing but ur self talking about ur future and why u are here in the first place :)

- They pay me around 2400usd, but im not happy at all .. this is not enough

Well, OP asked for a boring job. I know many people who were security guards for a while (at night) and used all of the free time to study computer science or graphic design, if you know what I'm getting at. It basically put food on the table and they were able to study what they really want at the same time.

Job in security comes to mind but you do have to pay attention you cannot zone out on the job.
 
Security. Requires some certificates/licenses. Most guys in this field seem to be slow/lazy. And any job in government. Zing!
Start monitoring job boards and see what comes up.

Can confirm, I done this when I was younger. The place I was tasked with had a massive forest surrounding the grounds. Most would quit as it would mess with your head when the moon was out and little wind any sudden noise in the forest people would jump and never come back. You only had to walk the place 2-3 times a night the rest you sat in a cabin. The downtime I used to study.

The company I went with put me on a 3-day joke of a course, gave me all the training I needed. Had my kit given to me which was uniform and a torch and that was it. They all laughed when I said I knew martial arts.. nothing ever happened, easiest job I've ever had.
 
Bridge Operator. I'm not sure of the requirements, but always thought about it while doing IM.
 
I have some friends who do stuff like

- Doing a nightshift in a fitness studio: You have to stay awake to see no one without id is getting in and you have to clean the equipment for about 2 hours (of your 8 hours shift) plus you can train for free if you want.
- Traffic assistent: My friend did that while backpacking through New Zealand. You just hold a Stop-sign at construction sites and have to talk to another guy at the other end of the construction site when to "stopp and when to go"
- Nightcare: A female friend of mine is working in a kind of hospital (without a special education) and she just have to stay awake in case smth happens. It is like a section with only old people.
- A long time ago I worked in a video store and it was epic. Just talk to friendly customers and recommend movies. Plus you put dvds back to its place when they were returned. On weekdays there was literally nothing to do.
 
I drive a truck same route 6 days a week sometimes I drive 8 hours without stopping which is how long the route takes one way. I can run my route with my eyes closed I often zone out trying to come up with new ways to make money online. I know it sounds dangerous but it’s not.

i ran into an article about this. in usa they're called traffic flag operators. you pay the state around $200 to get certified. they pay minimum $16 an hour (in florida) + benefits. not bad for just holding a sign and walkie talkie in the sun.

In my country all guys who work in security - very stupid and agressive cunts:D
 
OP check out mturk, clickworker or microworker. Those are easy jobs and surveys.
 
Work at a University that has a union. The union will make it so everyone's work-life balance is amazing, regardless of whether you're in the union or not. Good pay, amazing benefits.
