I've lurked here for a long time. Obviously, I've learned a lot. This is my give back to the community post. I know a lot of people want to try adult sites and a lot of people want to make money without much work and no financial investment. That's only natural. So this is a method that I have not seen posted here that can do that for you. It's not going to earn you a fortune. It's not a get rich quick method. You have to invest a lot of time and money for those. This is a method that with some time invested to start will eventually allow you to earn a little bit of extra money for a few minutes of work a day. We're just talking about extra cash here, not making a living.
1) Pick a fairly broad adult niche. You want a niche that you can find lots of free content for. Lesbians is OK. Underwater Hot Tub Lesbians is too narrow. You can go as broad as beautiful women.
2) Sign up for Tumblr. You can use any other similar free service. You just want something that allows sharing. You are going to be using other people to promote your site. You want a platform that allows others to click a button to repost your content. Tumblr is the biggest one.
3) Name your Tumblr what ever you want, but it's best if it at least somewhat decribes your niche. You can buy a regular domain name and use that on Tumblr. But, you don't need to do that if you don't want to spend money. Install Google Analytics on your Tumblr.
4) Install a theme designed for photographers to share their portfolios. Many free themes do this. The important thing with your theme is that you want people to see your content easily. Don't make them scroll continuously and show them the whole picture on the first page. Give people what they want and they will be more likely to come back.
5) Post a couple of pictures in your niche. It doesn't matter where you get them.
6) This is where you are going to have to start putting some work in. Most people will eventually give up in the next few steps. They will take work and time. Start following lots of people in your niche. Follow the people they follow. Try to follow around 100 people. Many of them will follow you back, which is the main reason you want to follow them.
7) Start reblogging other people's stuff like crazy. This will get you some attention. Some people will start following you. Follow them back. For the first month or so of having your tumblr, follow everyone back who follows you. After you get built up a bit, you don't need to follow everyone anymore.
8) Sprinkle in a few original posts of your own. Get this content where ever you get porn pictures.
9) Be patient and wait. You will start to gain more followers and you will start to see more visitors. Tumblr has a lot of adult content. It's going to take some time to get noticed. How long will depend on your niche and the quality of your content. You want to get to about 500 followers. Use this time to check page views with Google Analytics. Figure out what your most popular posts are. Look for patterns.
10) Download a bunch of adult pictures in your niche from free galleries. You want more than you think you can ever possibly use. Use Image Host Grabber and Flashgot to make it faster and easier. Run them through a duplicate image checker and delete the duplicates. Use bulk rename utility to randomize their order and rename them that way. Go through them and delete the bad ones. You want quality pictures. Quality does not necessarily mean great photography. It means something people will think is hot.
11) Set your tumblr queue to post a certain number of pictures a day. Upload a few more pictures than that per day. For instance, if you set the queue to publish 20 pictures a day, upload 25. This will allow you to take a few days off once in awhile. You still want to reblog other people's stuff occasionally, but limit it now. You want to be the source of the pictures. This is where you use the followers you got earlier to promote your site. They will reblog your stuff. Every time they do, you will be listed as the source. This leads to more traffic and more followers. Targeted traffic and followers. You will start to see your numbers snowball here as traffic will be coming in exponentially. And since it only takes 10 to 15 minutes to upload a day's worth of pictures, you don't have to work too hard at it anymore.
12) Monetize at any time during the above, but do not over do it. People are coming to your site for free adult content. They don't want to be annoyed with ads. They will click on them, however. Just make sure your ads don't stop them from coming. Put a banner up and some ads in the sidebar. Hopefully, analytics showed a pattern as to what type of your posts are most popular. Add a text link ad with a good sales pitch to a post or two per day. Your top posts are going to keep seeing hits for months, so the simple add will get lots of looks.
That's pretty much it. No financial investment involved. No hard SEO work. (Google does like Tumblr as a 2.0 site, so you will find yourself ranking higher than people who are working at it. With a little work yourself, you can really rank high.) You can do everything else to drive adult traffic to your site, and your earnings will go up if you do. The point here is that you can still earn without having to do that stuff.
Again, this is not going to make you rich. It can earn you some extra cash. How much depends on the adult niche and the quality of what you post.
