Hey tdizzle, one thing: I wasclicking around your site and the Dead Sea thing doesn't ever go to the product that I can find. the pics go to new tabs with full sized pick and the Dead Sea link goes to a wiki entry on anti-aging formulas. Otherwise I still love your format.

I can't believe google is getting rid of alerts and I have seen a drastic decline in my alerts as well. They just keep taking everything away that's free that people use. Whats next google analytics? Really ridiculous. Google alerts was like getting free leads right from the horses mouth.

I would have to assume it's a combination of not being lucrative for them, like you mentioned, and also the fact that so many marketers are probably exploiting it without any real benefit to them. Probably similar to why the G affiliate network is closing down as well. They're a monster and they want to dominate all of the most profitable angles and then dump the rest.

For those of you, on this thread, debating whether to try this out. I urge you to. When i first signed up to blackhat this was the very first method i tried. After a while i lost interest because i was working on other methods. However i checked my clickbank account a couple of months ago, and BOOM! i had $100 worth of sales in there which was a nice surprise. Since i only advertised those products through this method i know it works and is a great way to get started in the world of IM. So thanks Meathead

I still use this method, only problem is I have ADD and switch to the next shiny object easily. So I do have to say I probably commented for 3 weeks on forums that I get though G alerts. Not many as not all of them were relevant. It does take work answering all the comments but the traffic it brings is quite nice for months to come.

This thread's gone a little quiet - I hope it's because people are busy building sites/assets for the future! 
Hope so because after reading all the 45 pages of post my eyes are burning like hell !
I will start right away on this but I have a question about all that IM's stuff (I'm noob at IM but 22 years of everything else in IT)...
If for any reason I want to make all my s**t look real I can build a site that have pictures of my kids, vacation trip, videos, etc etc....?
But what is the risk of using your real identity? Are you guys creating a fake web identity? If fake, what about a FB page that look real
with a fake identity with no friends ?

So I'm getting started on this, but from a slightly different angle. My site's based around a certain niche and the idea is to review certain, related products rather than similiar products. Not built a site in a while and so would love some feedback (at the moment, there is only one product, more will be added later).

What exactly are you locking? I mean if you use CPA offers..what is it that you are exactly trying to get the people to complete an offer? Please tell me.

Either way still working on my site. I find that google alerts isn't that effective for my niche, the searching for forums and building reputation method is better for me I think. Sadly there are a lot of forums where it's not even possible to have a signature.
I might use the forums where you can have a signature to slowly build reputation and help people out, refer to my blog in my sig.
And then the forums where you can't have a signature I might refer to a review directly in a post.

if google alerts is not working for you (and I hear it's going to be taken down anyway), try treewalker.com, it's a similar service. Kdot. how's the traffic from the forums you're trying? I know it's a good source of traffic but there is alot of work to be done to get on a forum, build rep, post, etc. Thanks
