Hello everyone, I'm just now getting into affiliate marketing and find it extremely interesting, most of my time up to this point has been spent on ecommerce and SEO so i would consider myself to have decent knowledge in those areas. However affiliate marketing is very new to me and am wondering the best place to start.

I'm particularly interested in learning about buying traffic and promoting offers that way, I already go accepted to a few major networks and have been browsing offers but am not sure where to start. Any advice is much appreciated!

Thanks!

Step 1 decide on an offer you are comfortable with promoting and put your heart into it...

Don't just go after a bunch of offers in the beginning, you will fail.

Buying traffic is not the best way to go.

Choose good product, build big site and then make your best of your seo knowledge.

The strategy lets say I pick an offer in dating, I find a few KW's I wanted to target and create a LP for that offer. Then start driving traffic to the LP with seo and play around in adwords a little. Obviously thats very simplified but is this a good idea?

sorry gamer but that was a hypothetical situation as im still deciding on an offer to promote and will be working on this myself, but best of luck

Ok. Do it!

Just keep in mind it is the same to sell something for 10 and for 300. Dont waste your time promoting cheap products with low payout.

The steps you laid out is the basic for of doing online marketing. A landing page is worth a try but nowadays it will be easier and more economical if you will make a site, focus on it and add content, make it rank so you can get free traffic.

Forget about adwords for the mean time.

It's best to first start off using your SEO knowledge on keyword research. You can find the best affiliate offer out there but would do no good if you're targeting the wrong keywords for your site.
