This week i've taken a huge damn risk but really got a nice pay off!

Again, Groupon! Saw this offer where you could buy a coupon to get your car serviced. The offer was ?80 while the servicing was worth ?300. So when i saw this i was like dude.... winter is coming up, everyone wants to make sure their car functions properly and they wanna do it as cheap as possible so definitley a money making opportunity!

Since Groupon had no limit on how many you could buy, i went ahead and purchased 25 coupons for ?80 a piece. Then, i picked up the phone and i started calling and selling like my life depended on it. Three days later i had sold every single one for ?150 a piece and made an ridiculously easy ?1750 profit by doing, well, hardly anything.

It pays to be a Groupon hustler people! :)

Disclaimer: Im not saying you should take a 2000 euro risk the way i did, what worked for me might not work for you so check urself!

Really good job , business life is full of risks , But risks must be taken, because the greatest risk in life is to risk nothing , The person who risks nothing, does nothing, has nothing, is nothing, and becomes nothing.

Great job! Post people are very hesitant to invest $2,000 initially but your boldness clearly paid off. Way to go!

Thanks for the support guys!

blueplanet - Loved ur post, inspirational stuff right there!

Groupon is shit and most service there are scamming in diffrent ways.

First groupon is charging themself 50% of the price.Thats already a big joke so the company who sold a service worth 300 Euro is getting 40 Euro for it ?Who with a working brain is going to belive that. The issue is that in the small description there are always some limitation or the price of the service is complete unreal so they dont loose money on it.

While i do appreciate your input, i can't really say i am bothered by the ethics behind the service simply because of the fact that i am generating profit off of it for myself.

The small description in this case was that the coupon was valid for 3 months from purchase date and that, in case the car dealer couldnt assist you within those three months, the coupon would be forfeited without any liability for groupon or its partners. With that in mind i do get your point but it's still a profit :)

I'm not talking about ethics but that the value of the service on the coupon is small. But if you are such a great seller why dont you go directly to the car wash company and make a deal that you will pay 40 Euro for each customer you send to them for the same service like at groupon. They will be more than happy to make such a deal with you

At the end of the day, you took a gamble, the gamble paid off, you made a profit. Without taking risk's or a gamble, you get nowhere in life. I applaud you for taking action and thinking outside the box. Congrats ;)

Link to the groupon add.

You saved it right?

Because i'm having more than half the work done for me by Groupon so why should i? Netting in a week what someone struggles to net in a month working 40hr weeks leaves me quite happy even though not all people on this forum will agree with my modesty.

Absolutely great example of middle man marketing. Finding something with high value at a low price and creaming personal profit =D

Well done mate!

my question is who did you call?

Haha a fair question indeed. Friends, acquaintances and basically everyone i knew who i thought might appreciate a good deal and making me money (not that they knew about that last part of course and btw i had 2000 Euro riding on this thing!) :D

OK, here is the problem. At least here in UK, there was a small Cake company which did this Groupon coupon for very cheap prices, loads of people bought it (it was mad rush and some people bought more than 1 just like you to resell for profits). As Groupon takes 50% of the sales price, this compan couldn't full fill all the orders at this cheap price and ALMOST WENT BANKRUPT. I was one of them and lost on 10 coupons.

So my point is that you have bought these coupons just wait when the car company tells the buyer sorry no appointment available till end of next year, We are fully booked. So your friends will be calling you !!!!

Thanks for sharing. It takes some skill to seal a deal on the phone though!
