I'm experiencing terrible earnings drop this week.

The stats show almost same amount of impressions, but clicks dropped by 70% which is abnormal for my adsense account (it was quite steady for the last few years).

This graph shows, that all websites regardless of niche, target country or language failed to collect half as much money as they did on the same day last week. Anything similar happening to any of you guys?

Did your organic search dropped?
Mine fluctuated since the new rules implemented by adsense (no cpc only cpm) but have stabilized since last 2 weeks

No changes in traffic or anything. In fact, the traffic is slightly growing overall.

I do have usual ad impressions, just huge loss in clicks:

Thats a loss in traffic, clicks are the traffic not impressions. Impressions remaining same or increasing but clicks decreasing means your keywords are loosing positions in the serp results.

I'm sorry that my graph misled you :) This chart comes from adsense and not the search console.

What I wanted to show with this graph, is that:
• I do have same amount of impressions (no changes in traffic - visitors come and they do see the banners. My analytics tools agree with that)
• I do have much less clicks (Up to 70% decrease in ad clicks. They see the banners, but they supposedly do not click as usual. Where "usual" is my adsense history for the past few years)

This is why I'm terrified.

try better blending the ads into site's design / content

That is a good advice for general optimization. Yet, I'm dealing with something more concerning.

I came here to see if this problem only affects my account, and since no one seem to have similar issues, I will keep looking for something related to my account.

Yes keep looking for something related to your account since no one else experiences the same things as your ad account.

Adsense has already rolled out cpm revenue model, its worldwide I think.
What does that mean?
Most of the revenue will be from cpm even though it will show little cpc revenue. This is because adsense bidding will be cpm mostly.
if your cpm bit is lower your revenue will decrease if its higher it will increase.
So it does not matter how many clicks you get in adsense account you will get revenue from impressions only (mostly).

To those of you wondering what happened here in my case, I had a small breakthrough.

The support team responded explaining that I recently had increased amount of invalid clicks and this deduction is temporary measure currently applied on my account.

It is a bit of relief, because I did not caused the problem with my actions so I expect it to go away sometime soon. I run those ads on legitimate websites and I do take good care of those websites, so this is very unfortunate situation for me. I will also take their advice to inspect traffic looking for any invalid click sources.

Other takeouts:
They do not inform you about manual restrictions on your account, nor they do let you know for how long you will be punished.
I have all eggs in one basket. I should move some of my websites to some other ad network (Ezoic?)
Deliberately clicking on someone's ads might end up reducing their income by up to 70%

From 6 March adsense had to provide consent mode v2, for European countries. This means if you have traffic from eu,uk then your earnings dropped.

That is true, and I was having some first toughs related to regulation changes, but it turned out no to be relevant in my case as my drop affected all regions equally. Still, the subject of regulation changes is worth starting a new thread to see how much people are affected by this.

Ok, so if this happens for all regions then something is wrong. Earnings on all my sites from the EU dropped almost 20 times.

They are now paying with different model, no more paying based on clicks. All publishers are seeing downfall because of this.

Little update on this case.

Google simply murdered my account. No explanation. No policy violations or any kind of that stuff. The account has gone from hundreds of clicks to just a few clicks per day.

They still show banners at full thrust on my sites raking all the money earned, they just stopped sharing the income with me. No response or explanation from support. I guess that's legal if you're google.
