It seems like your tumblr blog will probably get banned if you are using ads directly on the tumblr blog itself. Most people tend to setup many more tumblr blogs in other niches, and then leverage that traffic by siphoning a portion of it off to a site you actually own and manage - whether that is a porn dump, blog, tube site, 301 straight to porn offer, cam site, etc....
The real key here is to learn to leverage the traffic your web 2.0 properties can generate. Reinstecker's posts will probably have the most value for you if you can extract the information appropriately. If you can generate a tumblr blog that is growing on it's own, and you can also automate its content, then you can apply those skills to other networks and develop an actual working method/model. If you expect a tumblr blog with 15k followers to be earning much more than it is at the moment - you may have unrealistic expectations of quick and easy riches.
You're on to something for sure. You just need to realize it's a bit harder than you might think, and figure out if you're willing to put in the legwork to turn this into an actual consistent money maker.
