Take this advice OP, make your site awesome first, then the money will follow.All you need to earn from your blog, is traffic. The more traffic you can get, the better. Monotize with adsense, and you will earn.
Don't concentrate on money making, rather concentrate on providing good information and the money will follow

You might not be able to earn at all if you are blogging only on informational topics.
Instead, you have to review a few products when you blog and leave a link at the end which points to that product.
This will get you a few sales provided you are getting some traffic to such articles.
A blog is just like any site. Fill it with quality unique content, build quality backlinks and you will get traffic. With traffic, you will get money.

the 1st is traffic..traffic is the most important to get you some money. when your blog have a high traffic, then you can put some advertisement code like adsense, bidvertiser, etc or you can put some script from paid-to-promote website..,or if you have skill to write a good article, you can review some product on SEO contest..just try a search on Mr. G with seo contest keyword
