Hello Everyone

I thought I would make a quick post that I hope will motivate others. July was the first month since 2012-2013 I earned over $1000 from SEO. I took a long break from IM in 2014 to focus on other projects and my day job but returned during 2020. While I missed the goal I had set myself, I'm still very please to have this extra semi-passive income and I'm not going to stop now. You're probably wondering why I didn't hit the goal I set myself, first it was very ambitious, second I have a demanding family and day job but the main reason is SEO is much harder and much slower than it was in 2012. So for all of you working on your sites or considering setting up a site, remember if it has become harder and slower in the last 10 years, it is likely to become even harder in the next 10 years so don't put off work today and you'll be prepared for the future challenges.

£810.36 is currently $988.42 from Adsense plus $115.66 from Ezoic. Ezoic works well on one of my sites (the small one) whereas adsense works better on the other. I only focus on SEO for these two sites. As soon as the cash arrives I'm planning on paying for Jr VIP.

I'm happy to answer any questions you might have

Congratulations, did you build backlinks to these sites that are making money through ads?
I am assuming these are niche blog sites.

Congratulations.
How old is your site, and what's your link building strategy?

Congrats. What made you choose Ezoic?

Congrats, is AdSense slowing down your site?

Hello, I wish you success in your project. I have 2 questions for you, I hope you have the opportunity to answer them.

1) If the infrastructure of your site is wordpress, which Wordpress theme and plugins are you currently using?

2) How did you do the adsense ad placement on your site and which ad units do you prefer?

I am assuming these are niche blog sites.

For the large site I've built guest posts, niche edits, forum comments and pbns. I've basically thrown a mix of everything at it. They are both niche blog sites however the larger one is in the entertainment niche so the relevance of articles is short lived. The smaller site I've been as whitehat as possible so the only backlinks have been HARO.

Congratulations.
How old is your site, and what's your link building strategy?

The larger site was started in Dec 2019 but I didn't do much with it until Sept 2020. The smaller site was started in Aug 2020.

Congrats. What made you choose Ezoic?

At the start of this year the large site was averaging about £300pm, I was trying hard to raise this figure so contacted every ad network I could. Ezoic replied pretty quick, monumetric took a while to reply, AdThrive & mediavine rejected due to not having sufficient traffic (true at the time), no one else replied. I tested Ezoic for several months on the large site but the earnings on adsense were higher and Ezoic slowed my site down and broke my admin area, but I suspected the type of content was causing the issue with Ezoic earnings. I tried Ezoic with the smaller site (better content) and earnings doubled.

Congrats , how did you approved adsense over it , any guides ?

I've had my adsense account for about 16 years, I've never had a site not get approved first time and I've added sites that don't meet many of the guidelines. I can only assume I've entered some trusted phase.

Congrats, is AdSense slowing down your site?

Yep but not as much as Ezoic did on the large site and does on the smaller site

How many articles did you post?

The large site has 250 short articles (500 words), the smaller site has 85 articles, averaging 700 words but some as long as 3000 words. As I write this these figures seem low, both sites would probably benefit from longer articles however the lifespan of each article on the large site is short so I'm reluctant to do more. The smaller site, I work in the niche so I just wrote what seemed suitable.

The smaller site is wordpress and the theme is generate press. The larger site is custom built on nodejs and tailwind. For ad placement I go with one at the top, one at the bottom, one in the content and as many in the sidebar before it seems like I'm overdoing it.

What is your broad niche?

The larger site is in the entertainment niche, the smaller site is in the education niche

how many unique visits did you have in a month for 1000$?

The large site normally gets less traffic whereas the small site normally gets more both are somewhat seasonal.

After a long time I am seeing Adsense screenshots! :)

How old are these sites?

See above

Ah ok, I always wonder what links to build to niche sites.

Congratulations on making $1k/month!
$10 CPM is amazing, what niche are you in?

I never really did much blogging myself, but I'm very happy for you

@yogib34r Can you please tell which country yo are getting traffic from (for both the sites, larger and smaller)?

Also, the site with 78943 users is larger one and the one with 5127 users is smaller one, am I right?

Asking because you said, smaller site get more traffic and larger gets less.

Congrats!

Did you start your sites with shared hosting and switched to a VPS after reaching a certain amount of visitors?

You have niche blogs?

You have done great, atm I'm around $10 last month on my site one Ezoic.
The other site that got declined on Ezoic is on Adsense and it also got around $10.

My goal is to earn $100 per day - long way to go

Did you face performance issues with Ezoic?
Would you mind sharing the domain metrics
