Do you have Digital Camera?
Do you want to earn money selling your photos?
Instead of selling one image at $80-$120 once, why not sell it for fifty cents 200 times? In the long-run, the profit margin can even be much larger than simply selling it at a larger, fixed price.

Microstock Agencies that Sell Your Photos:

Shutterstock ? GET STARTED HERE. Money adds up fast once you get a decent size portfolio online. Can be tough to get in but keep trying though; its one of the top paying sites (to many it is THE top paying site). I would recommend this as your first site to get started. If you can make it at Shutterstock, then you have a good chance everywhere else.

Dreamstime ? Not real picky, but picky. Another great site to start selling your photos online.

DepositPhotos ? A new site, but they have a great start. Sales are picking up fast here.

Graphic Leftovers ? A fairly new site with a good start. When you are new, they would be good to try.

BigStockPhoto ? Good sales. Not too picky. Another good micro stock photo site to sell at.

Mmm... Few days ago i met a nice chick who is a photographer and kinda struggling $wise.

Never thought of this before...

Not much for me in this one exept a few nice evenings 'explaining' this concept since she already knows i make my moolah online :D
 
This method works very well, but you must be a good photographer and to have a "good" camera.

Several years ago I tried this with Fotolia.
I earned few hundreds dollars, nothing huge, but in full passive.

Otherwise, websites like Fotolia allows vector graphics.
So, if you don't have a camera you can use your Illustrator skills !
(Or take free vectors and customize it)

As mentioned above it requires a huge portfolio and very high quality work to make decent money from stock photo sites. It's hard to get noticed because some artists have been there for ages and some of them have tens of thousands of photos for sale!

I would also add that the best selling images usually feature one or more people and those require proper model release forms, paying for the models, organizing photo shoots etc. Not too easy to start something like that from the scratch but if you are passionate about photography you can still make it! :)

Oh and btw, I would add Photodune.net to the list as it's a pretty new marketplace and is growing every day.

Question - What cameras are you guys using? I am using a Nikon D7000 SLR as of now. Planning to upgrade soon though.
 
Wouldn't using the power of Pinterest come into play with something like this?

You could setup a blog displaying various quality photographs, and have options to sell different sized prints of the photographs to customers.

Pinning several of the photos on Pinterest would not only bring about the potential of photos going viral. But because each image would have a link back to your sales page, any photograph that does go viral would bring hoards of traffic that may potentially buy something!

this would be nice to photographers.. I am a frustrated photographer with no cam.. maybe when i get one i will do this method..

Happy to help! Experimenting with Pinterest myself and seeing 1000 pageviews to my blog in 5 days, just by posting photos on my blog and then pinning them to Pinterest shows there is potential to be had.

I call that the wal-mart theory. Less is more.
 
Do not waste your time.

There is hardly any money in this venture.

I have been there.... the income is passive but nothing to write about.

Wedding is where the money is.... make around $3000 in a weekend.

Stock photography sites want the best pictures... top quality...no mistakes in composition.... perfect exposure..... perfect noise removal...etc.

It can be done... but the amount of time spent will not bring back the money.

Go make money somewhere else.

I always wanted to sell photographs. I didn't have camera but in about few weeks I will have DSLR and see how it goes.
 
i have thousands of wildlife and nature photos of mine, could i make some decent money with them like this?
 
well i am unlocking iphones and flashing iphone i have my own shop of mobile software unlocking. I got a lot of pictures in every iphone. Non nude etc pictures a nature pictures real and some good pictures of children real pictures and videos should i upload these types of picture to these sites and what you say is this legal or what. All mobiles come from uk.

I use a Canon 7D, and I love it !
D7000 is nice too, do you really need to upgrade ?! ;)
