Hey guys, recently i came up with an idea and since i've never tried it before, i decided to ask you guys for help.

I was thinking of building e-mail lists based on health or whatever, and then try to sell them products.

I, personally, never check the e-mails from the lists i am on, and i would probably never buy anything that the list i am subscribed to offers me.

What do you guys think? Can e-mail marketing work in 2018?

I hear aweber is the best. I have been building an email list in the work at home/biz opportunity niche and I'm about to experiment as well. I've gathered 2,000 fresh in the last month and need to get on top of that with my other journeys.

yes email marketing will work with good contents and attractive message. so do some attrative content and promote your marketing.
 
Yes, Email marketing working still now and would be in future. However, you should be creative and know about the marketing skill that help to earn money.
 
List building is like building an asset that you can remarket. In marketing, this is holy grail where you can make lots of money selling to someone who already trust you aka warm leads. So in short, email marketing do works as long as you are marketing to opt in list.

It definately works differently than like it used to be. Before you could just buy a list and you could get some sales of it. Nowadays you have to invest in this list and make sure you make content entertaining or engaging to the customer. Otherwise you might get yourself in spam jail if they report you to your list holder.
 
It all depends how authoritative are you to the list? If you only spam with shite they don't need, then no, you can't sell nothing to them.

However, if you only provide value at the beginning and create a bond with them, than Email Marketing is the best way to monetize your audience.
