E-Commers & rel="canonical"

Hey, I have done some light reading about the rel="canonical" attribute and have some application specific questions. On a category page there are listings for products that have an Image, Title and a price. Both the image and the title link to the product and the price is just text.

1. Would I use the rel="canonical" tag in this circumstance?

2. If so, should I apply the attribute to both the image and the title?

IMHO there is no need to use rel canonical. I personally use it only if there is some description of category used on more pages.
