I thought i'd create this thread as a journal but also to get feedback/tips from the people here about my agency.

So I have always been interested in making money online but like most people struggled to pick a niche but thought due to to covid-19 we are going to be seeing a big shift in the retail business so thought i would try and create my own E-commerce/web development agency. I also hate my job and think it's ridiculous I have spent 4 years in college and now working 40 hours a week for a job that pays shit and dont even like.

I have very little experience in running an online business so the learning curve for me is pretty high as I basically have to learn everything from the ground up I have somewhat partnered up with someone I met online so we will see how this all goes. The ultimate goal is to be able to make £2000 profit a month this is about what I make now for my day job and would let me survive living here in London and fully quit my day job. Hopefully by January 2021 I can make consistent profit of £2000 profit a month

I come from a tech background and can easily build websites however due to the limitation with my time my partner will be doing this initially or we will be just outsourcing it all together.

Let's go!

Nice Idea
Nice journey
Nice target

But there is a question mark in the journey.... do you actually have required skills to provide what you offer as an agency or do you intend to run a middle-man agency?
It's very necessary you have knowledge and experience in the agency niche you intend to cover in order to avoid future problems.

Any way, goodluck

So far this is what has been done:

-Email setup
-Company registered in the UK
-Website fully up and running about 80% completed(need to add some more text about the services we are offering, any advice for this?)
-Started cold emailing clients

Problems
- Need to find new leads the leads im paying for are shit alot of bounced emails and also they are seems to be alot of big companies which obviously wont need my services
-Need to research how I can better target local small businesses in London

Yes I do I built my website and my degree is even in computer science which is why I picked this niche is the first place as if i'm selling something i want to be confident and comfortable .But we will probably be doing middle man service. however i do think i need to fine tune my niche as a simple google search shows 100s of web development agencies in london

Wow, I'm happy to hear that you built your site from the scratch, that alone is satisfactory.

I pray for your success story

Wish you luck in this journey, hope you will be able to reach your goal and start working from home peacefully

This week I've done the following:
-Done some updates on my website

So about 2 hours after this post i got a call from another potential client asking for eCommerce shop, logo design and marketing. I already offer design and eCommerce shop development but not however marketing. I will take a decision next sunday if I should offer more services or not. My initial plan was only to focus on web development and shopify stores as this is what I know however if i keep getting request for other services i will have no choice but to offer them dont want to loose out on $$$

For anyone who runs a full-service digital agency web development, logo design, seo etc can anyone give me advice?

Goodluck on your journey and keep the updates coming. Really a difficult time these days but I look forward your journey's success.

Good luck ! Don't give up ! For other services maybe re sell service from here or fiverr

Are you only targeting UK client base ?

By theway, good luck on your journey...not an easy to job to quit and start from scratch !!

Long story short got unmotivated and enjoyed summer so stopped this for a couple months but restarted this again earlier this month.

This is what i has happened so far this month
-rebuilt my website, it now looks better than my original website
-I've found a web development agency who i will be outsourcing the work to
-I send roughly 1k could emails daily to leads I have
-Got a couple responses from my cold emailing but this has been from low quality low balling clients so i ghosted them

Current issues
-Still landed no clients
-My cold email is not converting as good as i thought(as mentioned im sending 1k emails daily offering my services including free initial consultation but still getting very low replies)
-Need to find more ways to find leads

Interesting mate. Keep motivated! Nice read since I started around the same time as you did with a web dev agency here in NL. At first we (me and a friend) wanted to dropship but at the end we chose to do what we like and that's web dev and online marketing. Keep up the good work!

thank you and how are you and your friend getting on?

Been busy with other stuff but today i just sent out about 1.4k cold emails with a new email im using, trying to take advantage of q4 holiday sales so lets see what happens.

From the email i was sending my conversion was extremely low and bad there was a few people i managed to get interested initial because I offer free consultation. Once I have them some consultation and they ask for my rates and I tell them they ghost me think I need to work on my closing but also find more high value clients who are willing to spend money

Glad you're still getting after it. There's still plenty of money out there. Good luck man!
