I've been thinking about going into my first venture of Amazon Affiliate marketing. I had thought about launching a full-blown ecommerce site (I'm a programmer/designer so all that would be sacrificed is time) and filling it with amazon products.

Then I thought about the cost to run it, which is where I got stuck...

Due to the low percentage that Amazon gives, I'm afraid it's not financially smart to do this. It would take 10,000 UVs with 1% of them purchasing at a 4% commission to churn out $400. 100,000 UVs is only $4,000.

Is this a worthwhile model?

I wouldn't do it. The margins are foolish.

Thank you. That's what I was afraid of. Even on a VPS after the CDN, SSL, etc. there won't be enough profit to make it worthwhile.

You can find goods that dropshipping from AliExpress and get bigger margin. But you need to take care of the sales.
