E-commerce sites with blogs

Hello,

I run an e-commerce site that sells fish tanks and fish tank ornaments. Within the site I have a blog with a few posts specifically on topic to what I sell (tanks).

I’ve signed up to semrush and there’s a whole lot of keywords that would bring traffic to my site but the top is aren’t necessarily exactly what I sell. For example, there’s a low competition keyword relating to what fish can and can’t eat.

Could I post blogs of such topics or will this have a negative impact?

you can, and you should! Covering as many... actually, covering ALL of the closely related topics is paramount to the building up of your site's topical authority, which is one of the most important parts of SEO.

Of course, it still doesn't mean that you're going to rank given how scumbags google have become, but if you're going to try at least do things properly
