E-commerce Marketing needed

I have built an e-commerce site with the help of a friend. It has over 6000 items on and we have had some sales for the client. The sales seem very slow and we want to make alot more sales for the client.

This is quite new to me, so your input is much appreciated.

What type of content would I add to such a site ?

Also how would I add keywords ?

ADD a blog with 300 word articles posted at least 2-3 times a week, and update on facebook regularly
